Have you ever been playing a first-person shooter of some kind, and you find yourself in a bad situation where it looks like you're doomed to die, but then you land a headshot on your opponent and save yourself from the danger? It may have happened in a Single Player game, or maybe a Multiplayer one. Maybe you were aiming for the head, or maybe you just got lucky.
For instance,
-This happened to me just now in Goldneye: Rogue Agent. An enemy NPC was about to switch on a machine trap that would kill me, but when he was about two feet away from the button, I turned and fired instinctively and just happened to land a headshot.
-When I'm losing a shootout in Halo Reach and my assault rifle runs out, I often draw my pistol and fire frantically. Occasionally, I'll get lucky and one of these highly-inaccurate rounds will land in my opponent's faceplate. Incidentally, sometimes they manage to do the same to me.
-Sometimes I put in a lot of effort scavenging the map for all of my favorite weapons and extra armor, only to be taken out by a lucky headshot delivered by my friend firing blindly with the starting pistol. Rogue Agent comes to mind for this one.
-Lucky headshots are pretty much the only way to beat somebody who's using the USAS-12 in Battlefield 3.
What were some times you were saved by the headshot?
