I'd agree with OP if it wasn't for a few major problems...

HOW many times have either of these bitches (appropriate) been captured?

I mean if it were one time, sure. Rescuing would be the right thing to do without expecting any reward.

Two times. Almost pushing it, but if the hero in question is of good moral fibre, not an issue.

Any more than that, absolutely ridiculous. Either the two Princesses in question are dumb as twigs, or they want to get caught. And if I were the poor schmuck still rescuing these hopeless twats, then they damn well better do any sick sexual fetish I request of them. And if they don't, I'd beat them senseless.

That's a little something Jesus would call... Karma.

This scenario reminds me of Resident Evil 4 and the movie Speed.

In Resident Evil 4 it goes the other way around. Leon saves Ashley and Ashley wants to hook up with Leon. Leon refuses because what he was doing was his job / strictly business.

From Speed we get this quote:

Jack: I have to warn you, I've heard relationships based on intense experiences never work.
Annie: OK. We'll have to base it on sex then.
Jack: Whatever you say, ma'am.

I'm pretty sure we are supposed to digest all of these adventures as a childish fantasy. Link only saves Zelda because he is the valiant knight who will help anyone in distress, not because he wants to bed Zelda.
Not just that, but there's the whole, "Zelda is a mcguffin almost always needed to defeat ganon" thing.
You could replace Zelda with a magic talking toaster, and Link would have just as much incentive to go rescue it. I mean, he rarely gets to even meet Zelda more than once, if at all, before he rescues.

But Mario? I gotta wonder. Mario and Peach spend a lot of time with each other, from having cake to going on vacation...
I could easily see them as a couple, and in that case, he has more than just sex to drive him to rescue.
Didn't Peach hint at wanting to be married in Super Mario RPG after Mario crashes the Peach/Booster wedding ceremony?

She wasn't too specific but I think she said something along the lines of "but I do want to be married someday..." throwing the ball to Mario. She's just waiting for a proposal from Mario, which will never happen because Mario's entire vocabulary consists of "It's a me MARIO!" ans "SUPER MARIO GALAXYYYYYY!".

It's a hopeless scenario.

It just rubs me the wrong way that a warrior/adventure should be grateful that he/she went through hell and back again for a princess/prince and all they get is a "thank you".. are you ****ing me? Risking life, limb, and sanity for a "thank you" would not cut it for most adventurers. Just think about it, going through frigid weather, scorching environments, nearly getting killed dozens of times...and you expect that the adventurer would get off on that alone? If a heroine goes through the same **** to save a gorgeous prince, I would expect the prince to "relieve" her stress in one form or another.
That's the whole thing I was talking about. It's the fact that rescuing a princess and trying to get her to have sex with you would be seen as having a sense of entitlement. I'll try to explain it through this scenario.

Prince: Greetings fair Princess I have come to your rescue! Come, we shall journey back to your kingdom where we shall be wed.
Princess: Wait, what? I mean I appreciate you saving me and all, but you're a complete stranger. I hardly know you. I don't think we should be getting married. Perhaps another reward can be arranged.
Prince: But, think about what I have been through! I willingly risked my life to save you, I should get more than your thanks. You owe me.
Princess: Ok, you're really starting to creep me out.

Frankly it would be unnerving even if the genders were reversed.
No, no no and no...wait where was I going with that?

okay, sexual favor is just 1 of MANY possible rewards. A lord title, room full of treasure from king for bringing princess back. Magically enchanted armor from the royal wizard. A feast for a king, but for warrior. Gold ticket to the many brothels in the city of the king. ANY of those would be acceptable, but all Link and Mario get for their work is a pat on the back....are you ****ing me!?

What Mario and Link have done compared to their reward is the same as the housewife/husband doing all the house work and when the spouse gets back home, he/she should give the cleaner a simple praise... **** no. The LEAST the working spouse can do is give the stay at home spouse a full body message. But this is just me thinking that hard work should be rewarded in one form or another.

I agree that Mario and Link should be rewarded for their hard work, just not in a way that forces a person to do something against their will. Another problem is, that we don't know if Mario and Link want a reward, I think someone in the thread said it the best.

Though you could switch out the "not because he wants to bed [insert princess here]" with "because he does not want a reward". Again, the player never sticks around enough to see the resolution nor see him receive any award.
