Square Enix has published some really good PC ports over the past year or so. (Tomb Raider, WatchDogs, Hitman Absolution)

You... You guys mean Sleeping Dogs, right? As in, the game where you're a cop who infiltrates the Triad in Hong Kong, and not the treatise on public surveillance that is Ubisoft's Watch_Dogs?

Microsoft: For all the flak I gave you when you first announced the Xbox One, and all the fucks I did not give for anything you ever did again after E3, the last few months of marketing have shown me that someone on Team Xbox does care at least a little bit about the games. I still have no interest in your console, but we can have a dialogue about it, now, rather than just me writing it off completely.

Activision: Guitar Hero 3 was a great game.

Ubisoft: Assassin's Creed 2 was a great game.

Dice: It was brave taking a chance on Mirror's Edge, hopefully its lack of success won't stop them from trying other new original IPs.

Can't really think of any other gaming companies I dislike.

I don't think people get how this thread is supposed to work. You say a nice thing about a company/game you don't like; you're not supposed to say a nice thing and then have the rest of your post as utter vitriol.

OT:

Valve: Steam is fantastic.

Ubisoft: As is Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

Mass Effect 2 had a good introduction. Though, it, and the rest of the game, were irreversibly marred by the fact that it introduced fucking thermal clips.
This reminds me of a video I saw once both demonstrating and explaining how their design decision alienated their original fan base from the first game and brought in a gigantic mass of newer fans with the second game because it was closer to games like Call of Duty. This was the strategy and they felt totally fine with it because it really did work. I think it was convention footage. I would fall into the side of the fans of the first game more than the second, in my mind it's a bit like comparing a more paced and cerebral Star Trek TNG TV episode to the flashy brainless fluff of the Star Trek TNG movies. Simply this man's opinion though.

Nice thing about Ubisoft? Their games at least look pretty, for the most part.

Drakengard 2: Even though it contained Nowe and comitted countless other story/character related atrocities....
The combat was a bit more varied with being able to use more characters, the dragon combat was improved and some of the music was pretty sweet.

Still, when your RPG has shoddier story and characters than your game mechanics, I think something is wrong. But I play for story, so there is my grain of salt in the opinion.

EDIT: Whoops. Looked like something of a Yo Dawg there. ^^:

Final Fantasy 12 has the best damn soundtrack I've heard in ages in a video game. Incredible. Infinite Undiscovery also has a pretty amazing soundtrack.

It was fun watching my friend play Ephemeral Phantasia.

Nexon is STILL running Nexus TK, my first MMO. When I was first playing, Nexon seemed like a pretty small and somewhat shit company (although that's just my impression, I'm not really sure). Now they're sort of a juggernaut. Pretty neat.

Nvidia is still making sales on hilariously expensive cards, and that's cool for them.

Bugs aside, EA did an amazing job with Battlefield 4. It obliterates Call of Duty.

THQ - Bringing you quality Nickelodeon games like Battle for Bikini Bottom... (GLOB, do I love that game!)

(Note: If this thread wanted the opposite effect, I'd had a few choice words for WayForward and NIS... Hands down...)

I really enjoyed the ending to ME3. It was a warriors death!

Depending on how you played the game, it was decent.

Um.

Well, um, Minecraft, for all the crap I say about you you can be somewhat interesting at times to play- its just the horriby, sad, bad sight of WASTED POTENTIAL that I am complaining about- probably one of the biggest wastes of potential that I have ever seen in videogames.

But at the end of the day, you were okay to play thougt. For like 2 hours anyway...

Putting Battlefield to be only on Origin was a great move on EA's part, as it meant people will actually download and use it. That meant that people gave it a second chance and realized that origin isn't *awful*.

Microsoft makes some pretty good business software.

Valve has an excellent distribution system and makes popular games. I just really do not like their business practice, or lack thereof. It seems awfully inefficient (at the moment at least)

World of Warcraft does write a story to last that still maintains interesting twists without being terrible.
Visceral did have EA breathing down it's neck for Dead Space 3.
I need to go be sick now.

EA, their stance on including homosexual relationships in their games, like Mass Effect 3, even amongst the adversity they were facing because of that inclusion, makes me proud.
