If I had to pick someone I think would survive, Duke is probably a safe bet, as is Gordon Freeman. Both aren't just badasses, they also have incredible amounts of Just Don't Die in their system.

If I had to pick someone I'd like to have with me, it'd probably be Alyx. Not sure she'd make it to be entirely honest (watch the fanboys and fangirls devour me alive for saying that...) but hell, if you're going to die in a post apocalyptic wasteland I couldn't think of better company. She's a good honest loyal girl and she kicks ass too. What more could you want, really?

Screw Ray Mears, I would rather have Bear Grylls. He would be able to make it look like we were surviving in the wilderness when actually he has found us a nice 5 star hotel to stay in, with en-suite bath rooms and room service provided by some underpaid (but extremely courteous) mutants.
