I have a 3DS (and I love it) and I have absolutely no intention of buying the new Pokemon game. I despise those games. I'll stick with Resident Evil Revelations or Mario Kart 7 :D

Nope. I just can't afford to buy every new gameboy that comes out. The last one I could afford was GBA. Missing pokemon would have made me sad, if every one after the second generation hadn't sucked the fat one. I want to be able to go back and play the older regions, otherwise it's only about 10 hours of playtime, and that's if you go slow.

Sorry, I got bored of pokemon when I realised it's the same game every single year.

I don't understand how people hate COD for reskinning the same game but this shit passes no problemo

The only pokemon worth playing is a heavily modded one. Until nintendo stops trying to shove another 100 new creatures down my throat, and stops blocking off all the old ones I'm definetly not buying a pokemon game. Shit I mean really how hard would it be to make a game where you can travel to all the different regions and catch pokemon from both generations? Not hard Gold did it, but hey its bad business I guess.

Gonna buy one when they come up with one with 2 analog sticks. I want to get one, since I missed the DS and all the games for it and want a system to play those games with. 3DS is a great chance to do so.

With that mentioned... Any original DS suggestions, anyone?

I am not.

I was always bored by generic turn based JRPG's, and Pokemon has never been an exception. Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI are exceptions.

Super Mario 3DS has caught my eye, but thus far it's the only game that isn't a remake that is worth buying the system for. And that isn't enough for me.
well in europe "Tales of the abyss" was never released until now on the 3ds. So it might be a remake most european players will play it for the first time.

Playing that game is to worth the price of the ds(also that i like 9 out of the 10 gba games the early adopters got works as well).
Tales of The Abyss? More like Take my money now and I will worship you for finally releasing it before I will curse you when I realize I should have left the bus I was sitting on 2 hours ago! Though that name wouldn't be very catchy so I guess Tales of The Abyss will have to do... sadly it's sold out everywhere :(.

Also I bought the 3DS partially out of spite so I could be a dick on Gamefaqs and laugh at all the idiots who were waiting for it to be released while I had it 2 days before it was released in USA since the vast majority of the community there seems to think that American release means that it's out everywhere and it has pissed me off so much in the past that I have wanted to ram my keyboard down their throats.
I also bought it because there's a wide variety of good games coming up and I was excited from the first time I saw what we could expect.

Looking at my post I realize that watching 20 episodes of Zero Punctuation in a random order is bad for my typing...

Nope. I'm done with Pokemon unless they do something totally mind blowing and revolutionary with it, which isn't going to happen.
This game is a crossover between Pokémon and Nobunaga Ambition where you have to take over Japan.

Not sure if this is revolutionary, but I think it's pretty mind blowing.

OT: I want to say no, but you are right. Pokemon games were the reason I got a GameBoy Advanced and DS. However it won't be another 3-4 years till the next generation of main games comes out so a 3DS will be cheaper then, with probably a new version or two.

I wonder if the 3rd game (Pokemon Grey?) will be on the DS, 3DS or both.

I already have one and I am not getting Pokemon. I just never enjoyed them.

However, the new ambassador games are pretty kick-ass.

You mean buy the exact same game I've already bought 4 times. No thanks, I'll wait til we get a full fledged 3D Pokemon game. Too bad that will never happen because Nintendo makes far too much money releasing the same game over and over again.

God, makes me wonder why kids haven't spent years of their life sobbing that Steam tells all their little friends how long they've spent playing Team Fortress 2, since that's a million times worse than anything the 3DS has done and people are acting as if it destroyed freedom and turned the US into a communist society.
Don't bring in something that has nothing to do with the topic. I have reasons to hate Steam, but that's with the program itself. And it sounds more like your complaining about the people who use Steam, which is just petty and has nothing to do with the 3DS or why it's bombing.

Also, no, I haven't played Pokemon past the third generation, and I plan to keep it that way.

I plan to get a 3DS when and if TWEWY 2 and Phoenix Wright vs Professor Layton come out in Europe, when and if that happens I will purchase all those re-makes out now that I want (so Zelda, Star Fox and Tales) and probably that new Kingdom Hearts title and Animal Crossing 3D...I have no interest in any other game I've heard about or played on the console.

I am not getting Pokemon, but I love my 3DS and am playing it more then my Xbox and PS3 combined. Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D land are the best games I've played this year, and I have Skyrim, Zelda and Battlefield 3 on my shelf collecting dust lol.

I find pokemon to be the pinnacle of Nintendo's greed. Seriously people ***** and moan about how omg there is another CoD game out and that everyone who likes it are stupid sheep. And yet Nintendo rolls out with another pokemon game that has very little changes, besides a few new bells and whistles with each iteration, and it is declared as a gift sent from the heavens. On top of that they have the gall to release two version of the same game.

Seriously why are people still buying into this nonsense of two versions of the game? It was utter crap when they did it in the beginning with red/blue and it still continues?!
This isn't a case of we don't have the memory to fit in all the different pokemon, its a terrible tactic of milking fans for their money.

If any other game pulled a stunt like this everyone would be getting their pitch forks and torches and bashing the game to death. But since it is Nintendo and Pokemon its ok.
As much as I agree with you guys, I have to point out that not only is Pokemon NOT a yearly release but it also has spin off titles in different genres.

So yeah, the main series Pokemon games are pretty bad for just re-skinning the last game over and over but hey, at least it isn't every year and at least we also get Pokemon racers, brawlers, dungeon crawlers, puzzlers, tamagotchis and ...on-rails photography simulators.

In CoD we just get regular CoD, no changes, no spin offs and certainly no ...on-rails photography simulators...

(yes I liked Pokemon Snap, deal with it!)

Pokemon would by no means entice me to get a 3DS. Only Mario (3D Land) and Luigi ('s Mansion 2) bring me to even consider it.

Mario is doing a damn good job at that, though.

Nope.

I will not buy it just for Pokemon, and I love Pokemon. I will buy it for Kid Icarus and Tales of the Abyss, and when I do get it I will get the remakes too.

It would be a bonus when a new Pokemon comes out on the 3DS when I have one.

I posted before they announce that, and I have to say this is a very interesting turn of events. Not sure if I will get the game, since I don't really like RTS games. I've never heard of this other game before either. The concept of mixing the two sounds really weird. I wonder how it will turn out. But that game is on DS so it still won't make me buy a 3DS.
