Sorry, I got bored of pokemon when I realised it's the same game every single year.

I don't understand how people hate COD for reskinning the same game but this shit passes no problemo
People don't know what they want. All everyone actually wants from everything is more of the same, the sales figured for movies alone justified the validity of that statement. It's in human nature to attach yourself to familiarity. The problem is, some source material is better then others; Madden and Cod is as bad as things get both in their roots and what it has to offer at the end of the day. Of course that is speaking entierly on examination of how lazy the developers were, and not how fun these things can be for those who are really into these themes. The point is, if you arn't really into football or really into war shooters, these games have nothing to offer, where as something else super manufactured (like pokemon) can have several different things it can offer many demographics of people. That is why you see people of all ages playing it for several different reasons. People also like just enough new mixed in to make something old enjoyable. People who play CoD get to sit and wonder about 'what selection of hallways they will get this time' while people who play pokemon get to wonder about what new species of creatures they will get to capture. So you do have a bit more to look forward to in pokemon. But that said, people do still like war shooters more in this day and age.

And for the record I have never finished a pokemon game. I simply cannot make it to the 5th gym without being bored out of my mind. It's just not my game.

... We all know you're all going to buy one when the new Pokemon comes out.

You have no other choice.
You can't be serious.

God, makes me wonder why kids haven't spent years of their life sobbing that Steam tells all their little friends how long they've spent playing Team Fortress 2, since that's a million times worse than anything the 3DS has done and people are acting as if it destroyed freedom and turned the US into a communist society.
You REALLY can't be serious.

But back to the topic at hand, you mean that when my primary objection of no games I give a shit about has been removed I'll buy the system? Hogwash!

Unless 3-D is mandatory, in which case I still won't buy it. Mostly because my other complaint is the 3-D kinda makes me nauseous, and I still think it's somewhat silly that the primary gimmick of the system is something I'll turn off in three seconds.

You just contradicted yourself. People know exactly what they want: Safe games, safe movies, safe media.

I'll need to get Black and White first. Plus, I'll probably end up getting Tales of the Abyss first.

Nope.

I didn't even try Black and White, and I only bought HeartGold out of nostalgia.

I'll buy it if the Zelda game they're developing for it looks awesome, though.

Not that there isnt anything wrong with the DS, just that Nintendo needs to back up and help out bulking the libarary so that it looks more worthwhile....it pretty much has Mario 3d Land, Mario Kart 7 and LoZ: OoT 3DS.....yes theres also Star Fox 64, but from what i heard, the changes they did to that wasn't as extensive as OoT. 0,0

They need to industrialize their own online services, take a few (good) ideas from other console developers, like how Sony has actual accounts where you can link systems together for the sake of having an easily accessable downloadable libary you procured over the years, im pretty sure people isnt that fond of the slow DS Transfer tool that was provided by nintendo....it basically needs you to have both DSes linked to the internet, and you have to have the file on the system of the transfering DS.. 0,0

More food for thought would be that the 3DS could really be revitalised if linked accounts could also download the SNES and NES games you've bought....you know your fanbase yearns for on the go Mario 3, plus by linking release sceduals together, you'll have less "no-content" weeks, pretty sure people wants Yoshi's Island more than a pelvic floor training wiiware game... D:

Other ideas would be something like a singular name which can be anchored to all sorts of games and scrap friendcodes alltogether, except for their older games

EDIT: to put things into perspective, the only 3DS games i have is Pilotwings (which i got with the 3DS because my brother hated the 3DS and bought it off him), and OoT....which i bought out of nostalgia...and mostly because it was LoZ...

...never even got past the water temple on both versions, it just sits collecting dust whilst i play Yoshi's Island. :D

Id get Tales of the Abyss, but its too rare...

I didn't buy any of the Pokemon games for my DS, despite owning one for nigh on 6 years.
...But I do own a 3DS (birthday gift out of nowhere).

So, I guess I'm already stuck.
As fun as it's been as a nostalgia engine, I really do hope they start making good games for it that DON'T involve the overdone Nintendo Stable (the only possible exception being a Smash Bros entry, because portable Smash Bros sounds like Pure Ambrosia).

...But I have this sneaking suspicion that it just won't happen.

What were you on about? It sounded to me like you were comparing TF2's popularity to Mario Karts'? Otherwise your post that I originally quoted made no sense.
Not at all.

I was wondering why people are so butthurt about 3DS's "Privacy invading features", where it logs what you play and for how long (making piracy hard, since Nintendo can detect it and will brick your system), but Steam has been logging what you play, when, and for how long for much longer and made that information PUBLIC. So I don't get why people are SO MAD that the 3DS does the same thing? Unless they're pirates, in which case, fair enough.

Blame nintendo for expecting me to shell out 200$ and another 50 for a game I already played twice over. I played OoT already, why in the hell would I pay so much money just to play it again? They should of just made a new zelda for it ground up and not be lazy. Also, the 3ds is a gimmick shoved down third parties who don't want to bother with the gimmick anyways so it has even LESS third party games then usual.
