Gamestop over here is weird. I wanted to buy PoP: Warrior Within from them and got Two Thrones instead. Their prices are usually outrageous, but they sold Ikaruga for 5€, that was even before that game hit the XBLA. (regular ebay price back then: 40€+)

My Gamestop's stench is enough to make even the hardcore-est player think twice about going in. No, seriously, the stench of that place is like a sweaty armpit that hasn't touch any soap in over a week.

The local BestBuy has better prices for trade-in/used games anyway, and they occasionally have some decent sales. (And they don't pester me about pre-ordering or anything like that. Non-commision based sales FTW!)

It's as good a place as any if you plan on preordering games or buying them new, because they're generally the same price anywhere and gamestop generally secures exclusive pre order offers and such. If you're going to buy or sell a used game you could probably find it a bit cheaper or sell it for a bit more on eBay or something, but that makes sense because if they buy a used game from somebody there's no guarantee they'll sell it so they have to in order to make a profit.

I don't love it or hate it, it's just there. I think the only reason gamestop is getting a bad rep now is because it's starting to get successful in a big way and fall victim to the same stigma that microsoft and Wal Mart have, where people who don't understand that the whole purpose of a business is to make money call it evil because of its success.

The one time I bought a used game that turned out to be a hacked copy they let me return it without a hassle.

It all depends on the employees. The one near me is pretty cool but I went to school with three of the clerks. I would never take anything there to trade in, though. For new games they are the same price as anyone else so I may as well get it there. For older games I usually get the online anyways. Amazon, Steam, and GOG are usually pretty cheap for any classics.

In the MGS Timeline it goes 3 1 2 4. But no, there aren't really any big cliffhangers. This that'll make you go, "Ooooooo!" but only in an oo-ey way never in a "What? NOOO, please don't end!" way.
