Sorry to tell you this but this topic has been made like 12 other times.

OT: Silent Hill 2, I know its a generic choice but it was scary.

Silent Hill 1, 2, and 3. 2 was the scariest.... I had nightmares for months! I wish I could do it again :D

Siren is the only "scary" game I've really played. I guess it wins by default.

Metro 2033 has had a few good moments, surprisingly so has Deadly Premonition.

Silent Hill 5, but only because the game lagged so much that the fights were virtually unwinable without a trainer >>
I'm tempted to say Silent Hill 2, but that's not really a scary game at all. It's brilliant, haunting, and disturbing, but never piss-your-pants scary...

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned Resident Evil 1 Remake for gamecube.

The zombies were an actual threat (as opposed to other games) and I for one dreaded every single encounter with them just because it may be a crimson head, or I may not have kerosene to kill it afterward.

The one time I almost pissed my pants was when I was like 7, playing Turok 2 in the dark on my brand new Nintendo.

I bought the new 360 one a while back, and was almost laughing as I walked through every level with nothing but a knife. T_T Not the best for game play, a insta-kill to almost anything regardless of position.

When I was like 9 years old I got scared by Turok 3 I think it was on the N64. Since then, no game has ever scared me, no matter how hard I try. Some movies still do, but video games just really don't.

Probably because of the 1 fact that ruins horror games. You die, and you just start at a save point. Its not like its all over or something. There's no fear there, but in movies, they can kill off characters whenever and it often happens so the fear is always there. Imagine watching a scary movie when all of the sudden the main character's head gets chainsawed off. Now your in shock but all of the sudden the movie rewinds 10 minutes back and the protagonist tries it again, fully aware of what was hiding in the shadows.

THE MAZE GAME... Jesus Christ. Not really scary, but that... FACE! made me jump outta my seat and do a backflip.

The Silent Hill and Fatal Frame series. Jesus titty-fucking Christ that shit will haunt you for months, with plenty of sleepless nights.

resident evil remake. Even in the venerable silent hill series, I was always able to mass ammo and health on my first playthrough. with the REmake, i was not able to do that (on the first run through at least. now i breeze through it).

I was wondering when someone would mention Fatal Frame, it made me have nightmares for ages.
