Scariest Games You've Ever Encountered

Metro 2033 was friggin' scary.
Also that fucking house in Vampire. I may be an immortal kick-arse being of the night but that level still made me shit my pants.

So far, the only game that's really left me with feeling at least uneasy has been Half-Life. I just haven't found myself strictly "scared", really. So, I know I've just gotta get into Amnesia, Dear Esther and Silent Hill as soon as possible, at Midnight, with the lights off and some earbuds on. (Yahtzee seems to really recommend the second Silent Hill!)

Quick scale for scary games.

Dead Space- Flinch a few times, than get used to it.

Silent Hill- Best for a prolonged hanging dread.

Fatal Frame- Sudden scares that knocked several years off my life.

I got a little lost reading the english version, did not realize how far into the comic I was, and...it scared me again. Thanks for the link.

Amnesia, in the dark, wearing a headset! alone in the dark was the first game to frighten me and the original survival horror. Silent Hill 2 is also win for the scares. <3

I've been playing Silent Hill 2 and its been pretty scary so far. I've only just got to the hospital so I think the scarier stuff is yet to come

just remember, the game will always get scarier. Its really good at doing that. You would think that it just can't get scarier, then it does. Every single time
