Um, this one's not scary, just horrible in general.

I find myself walking on a small, grassy path. I pass apple trees and flower beds, and I end up on a small bridge leading over a small creek. In front of me, there is a pavillion, where I spot a woman in a long, purple dress. I walk towards her, and I see that there is a large bed in the pavillion. She turns her face away from me as I come closer, and I sit down on the other side of the bed. All of a sudden, we both lie down beside each other. I look at her, and I remember thinking that she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Then, she moves her hand towards mine, and I respond to the gesture by quickly moving mine onto hers. We lay for a while and I hold her hand. We close our eyes. But then she says something, and I cant remember what it was. I remember, however, trying to answer.

And when I say what ever it was I did say, I wake myself up. I dont realize it yet, but then I tighten my grip in the hand that held her, and feel nothing.

I was freaking gutted.

mine is fairly simplistic and straightforward, I was casually driving my car in a road that I've never seen before then suddenly I see someone walking and hit him with the car.

The worst part is I dream this nightmare multiple times and I could never figure out who that person was and I don't even know what he looks like.

I used to have my computer right next to the door of my bedroom, and I once had a dream where I was sitting at it typing, in broad daylight. All of a sudden, with no warning, the door opened and a really pale, bald man wearing black clothes poked his head through and grinned at me wickedly. I actually woke up screaming from it and didn't sleep for the rest of the night.
Terrifying. I find that the simple, realistic nightmares are the worst, too. Someone entering your room and grinning. Or not moving a muscle to make a face, just standing there emotionless looking at you. Aaaaraghhh. Ugh.

After we had to put our dog down I started having more nightmares about my close family members dying. The most graphic was my mothers.
Me, My brother and my dad were waiting for my mom to come home so we could go somewhere. We soon decided to just walk there and we soon started to sit at the side of the road. We saw our moms car past by when all of a sudden, Someone slammed into it. Her car started to hit the others that were in front of her. One of the cars infront of her caught fire and spread to the other cars. The rescue crew were only able to pull out my moms decapitated and bloody legs of her torso and head were crushed by the cars around her.

The entire day after I had that nightmare I had to keep myself reminded that my mother was alive and if she had to get in a car I would get scared and worried.

When I was seven, I dreamt that a giant flying octopus came. First, it ate my father. Then it took my sister. And then... me. It changed me man, forever.

And this one time I dreamt that a whole bunch of stuff happened but when I woke up I realised that I had indirectly kissed my best friend in the dream.

Being stuck in a sinking underwater facility with the threat of a prehistoric sea creature devouring my former co-workers. It was similar to the plot of Deep Blue Sea, but I had this dream years before that movie came out.

Well... It wasn't exactly scary, However it was the only dream that I have ever throw up from and gave me a terrible pounding headache for the entire day.

Anyways it started off blank and black, However white lines appeared in a hexagon, Next thing that appeared was a crude outline of my face, Also in white lines, Then my arms and the upper part of my body, It appeared that I was climbing up the hexagon, Then behind me it was filled in with blue, The climbing continued for a mintue then just past me, I could see the outlines of like a dragon... Or something and it kept chaseing me the climbing became more frenzic, The White lines changed into tons of diffrent colors that kept changeing the image started spinning faster and faster I continued to climb even faster the water kept riseing the spinning turning into a blur as well as the climbing, Then all of the sudden I woke up ran to the bathroom and threw up, My skull pounding and I couldn't return to sleep.

Twas terrible.

Uhm... I was following around a girl with an abusive boyfriend and he slams the car door on a scarf that she is wearing and drives off.

I know that most of my dreams are pretty surreal, but scary? I think they are mostly creepy, in a frightening way, like running in a morning garden while somehow I knew that there were three people chasing me- or they were things, one of them had a horse head, of that I'm certain. I know that I was very desperate, because they were searching for my girlfriend too. Honestly, I don't remember much from it, and am glad for it.

Are you kidding me.... holy crap. Holy crap. You saw slender man.

He comes to you in dreams. Then he comes for you in real life. Id be terrified. Just thinking about him scares me shitless. Scariest thing ive seen online. Ever.

Mine is pretty straight forward. Zombie invasion, loads of them swarm me in a telephone box, i try to wake up, realizing it was a dream but i cant. I cant escape. Pure panic overwhelmed me as i thought it was real life. The second they prize the door open i wake up. Scary as fuck.

Well as a kid I used to have a recurring dream where I'd be walking through an ice cave, and I'd be mauled by the Fox's Mints polar bear. Kind of terrifying, and also says something about my subconscious.

I also had another one where I was being tortured on this dark, stormy ship deck and I was stabbed in the back with a cutlass and I could feel it.

I know that I have had nightmares that last not only the entire night (through hallucinations) but also all day. Luckily though, I can just opt out of dreams video game style by some how bringing up a pause menu and pressing quit. :p

The most disturbing one I've ever had, I'm not sure if it was an actual dream or just my head deliberately trying to scare me, I was in that half sleep stage where you're concious, but nothing is making any real sense, when out of nowhere my mind just goes "RARGH!" in that short, sharp way you use to make someone jump.
It worked. My own mind somehow managed to deliberately make me jump, and for me that is the most disturbing thing I've ever experienced.

I got this.

My friend(who doesn't actually exist) and I break into my old high school to look for a serial killer. (Don't ask) We split up. I'm off exploring classrooms, when suddenly, I get some kind of vision of my friend being attacked in the library. I book(ha!) it over there only to discover my friend. He's fine. He's wearing a big black cloak, but that doesn't really bother me for some reason. I can see something on the ground behind him, lying in a pool of blood, but I can't bring myself to look directly at it. Instead, I'm just staring at my friend's face. He's walking towards me. As he gets closer, I can see blood dripping down the sides of face. Without taking my eyes off him, I start walking backwards and trip. Suddenly, my friend's face slides off, revealing a mask. It's solid silver. There are no holes for the eyes or mouth, it's expression is blank. It's still stained with my friend's blood. As he crouches over me, I realize that the silver mask is his actual face, and my friend was his mask. White gloved hands reach out and grab the sides of my face. They're cold. I realize that he wants a new mask.

Then I wake up.

Yeah. The weird thing is, even though I'm usually very easy to scare, this didn't scare me. I'm not sure why.

It started with a giant spider laying an egg sac inside my stomach. Suddenly, a tarantula the size of my fist started struggling to climb up my throat and out of my mouth. Its upper thorax and four of its legs were sticking out of my mouth before I woke up in a cold sweat.

Eh, 'normal' nightmares don't really scare me, probably because I tend to have them all the time. It isn't uncommon for me to wake up and think, "holy hell, what recess of my mind did I dredge THAT up from?"

What disturbs me more are the extremely vivid dreams, good or bad
- the ones you wake up from and can remember everything, and part of you legitimately thought it was real.

My example: in the dream, I was sitting on a park bench talking with the girl I had a crush on in high school. I knew it was a dream at the time because the bench was located in a room from the Forest Temple of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. What messed me up right and good about it was the fact that I can remember physically feeling her hair brushing against my cheek during the dream, and could still feel the remnant when I woke up. I spent the entire next day distracted and lacking an appetite.

I wouldn't call this scary or disturbing except to me cause i had it but, my dream involves me as a carrot with just a face sticking out of the ground. Suddenly theres a loud thud in the distance behind me. my face rotates around the outside of the carrot to see, and its a giant pink cute smiling bunny walking towards me. As panic sets in I try to get out of the ground (failing cause i dont have arms) and screaming at the top of my lungs. closer and closer the bunny gets as my screams get more frantic and blood curdling, untill finally the bunny gets to me, pulls me out of the ground and as Im heading into the darkness of its mouth its suddenly lifeted like a curtain, and theres the old 20the century fox logo, changed to say "20th century SUCKS to be you!" music and all. I always wake up drenched in a cold sweat right after that.

also, I have this one dream once a month where i walk through a door to find myself sitting in a big ornate chair in front of a fireplace in what looks to be a study of some sort, wearing a nice robe, smoking a pipe (I dont even smoke), and reading a newspaper. i look up at myself and simply say "I've got nothing tonight, come back tomorrow night." at which point I wake up. not scary it just weirds me out.
