Just do what I always wanted to do but never had the guts to since I was a cave-dwelling Goblin in my basement for most of my highschool life. Curl up in the fetal position, cry, then when someone of the said opposing party arrives to point and laugh, start laughing hysterically, point at them, then lunge and attempt to bite their face off. In my case, I just got as far as the curling up in the fetal position and cry before someone came along and curb-stomped me. Come to think of it....just do what the first reply said.

I always do my homework, I ask teachers a lot of questions, I'm fairly polite to people, I'm new .

That sums up most of the problem, the first one not so much, but the last three combine to make you into an ass-kisser.

If history of the world taught us anything is that the biggest jerk wins.

We have similar in Poland.

5 or 6 = Pre-School.
6-12 = Primary School.
12-15 = Middle School.
15-18 = High School.
18+ = College and further.
This is basically what we have in the U.S, we just call Primary School Elementary School.

And therfore you borrow a text book from your freinds, those who do not wish to stain your perfect record of absolutely no official punishment whatsoever (woot!) out of petty envy. Also, if you miss one homework in, like, the whole year because you forgot something, won't your teacher just let you off and let you hand it in tomorrow, or are they a complete stiff with a rod so far up their arse you can see it down their gullet. Because, if the later, I pity you.

Ignore them, is my advice. Walk away. Do not make them feel big. Insult them in a way they can't understand, and leave them dazed. Failing that, if they do attack you, duck. Happened to me, a guy threw a punch, I ducked, clocked his mate one right round the jaw. Then flee.

Save questions until after class. That way you seem keen to the teacher but not to everyone else.
Also, when they insult you or anything simply question and debate the insult out loud before coming to the conclusion that they are in fact correct. Then proceed to thank them for offering further insight into yourself that you couldn't have gained otherwise. Then offer a handshake.
Ok, maybe not the second two sentences but seriously, being nice all the time just works. They can't justify being mean to you and they find they have to be at least cordial with you. So yeah, do not give up on being nice, even if they try to beat you up. Try to make them think you're on their side. Often if they want to beat you up it's to show that they are better than you. If you just say they are then there's no point in them beating you up.
Or there's the nuclear option. Just ask exactly what you have to do for them to leave you alone and try to reach a compromise.
Anyway, those are just things that worked in the past for me (well, those plus I once beat the living shit out of a guy so nobody picked on me again and I deeply regretted it afterwards). But yeah, I hope everything works out for you.

Ok I'd just like to clarify one little thing,I am by no means very smart. My 37% in maths proves that in fact my best subject is English and I got 65% because I forgot a whole section at the end, luckily she gave me 75% because I missed creative writing which is my best sub-subject. (These are all end of years from last year in NZ)

Then again.... they did learn beginners Algebra last year and just learn't what a simile was a few weeks ago(in a higher level class)....No! bad Stormcaller, be nice!

EDIT:Hehe, it didn't even need my bump

EDIT2: Yes I said English is my best subject, may not seem so but I usually write posts quickly then go back if there is anything glaringly wrong with it so don't take this as my exam level of writing.

1) Accept the challenge.
2) Bring a bottle to the fight.
3) Break it.
4) Start screaming and brandishing the broken bottle in his face.
5) Make every attempt to look as crazy as possible.
6) Watch him run away.
7) Laugh and have a pool party with all of the prettiest girls in school.

This is basically what we have in the U.S, we just call Primary School Elementary School.
Just to clarify, for the average child in the U.S.:

3-4 = Preschool (optional)
5-12 = Elementary School (Primary School)
12-15 = Middle School (Secondary School)
15-18 = High School (Postsecondary School)
18+ = College/other

College/University system in U.S.:
2 years: Associate's Degree
4 years: Bachelor's Degree
5 years: Master's Degree
6-8 years: Doctorate Degree

Edit- On Topic: Try to understand why they feel this way about you. It can be either their fault, your fault, or a little of both. They could just be complete jerks, but are you acting arrogant? That could be setting them off. It could also be new-kiditis that ye be suffering from. Point is, if you know the reason for these complications, you can deal with them better.

Until then, dodge or learn jujitsu. I remember once in middle school while the teacher was away in lalaland, this one kid notorious for being a drunk came up to me and suggested that I stole something of his that I did not have. Being unable to produce it for him, he attempted to punch me as hard as he could. I dodged slightly to the right, he slammed his fist on the metal part of my desk, the class laughed at him and cheered me, and the teacher woke up from lalaland. Problem solved.

If a punch (it will most likely be a punch) is thrown at you that you cannot dodge, or if you wish to attack him rather than just defend and dodge, the key is to use his power against him. Grab his fist, and attempt to keep his momentum going until you can throw him to the ground. Alternatively you can counterattack by grabbing his fist, hitting him in the eyes, and then doing whatever you wish- may I suggest a strike to the balls?

Ultimately, try to avoid the fight and gather a crew of friends. Eventually spread out and try to befriend members of "cliques" that you normally would not hang around. You can do this by finding things that you have in common- such as gaming, or hating the school system. Such an alliance makes school before College bearable.

5) Use ducttape to seal the opening on the sides.
6) Throw the bottle-with-flaming-rag on him.
7) Watch and laugh as he bursts into flames
8) Plant a red flag on the roof of the school
9) Have a celebratory party with a gang of crazy russian chicks.
There, fixed :'D

Bah you're too judgemental. As for the book; just talk with your teacher about it and there might be a copy you can borrow.

People in high school are often clichey and silly. Just find your own way to be interesting and find your own group of people who "dont care" to the same degree you do.

Heh. I AM ONE OF THE GUYS FROM YOUR SCHOOL!

Actually I'm just messing with you.

I really can't help you out here. When I had similar troubles (albeit not as bad) it all ended in a fight.

I would suggest you just be smarter than them and enjoy being rich and successful when you grow up.

Or sacrifice them. Sacrifice solves everything!

Well.. It's been awhile since I've been in high school (I'm in USA by the way), but one of the big lessons that I learned is that everywhere that you go, people are stupid and have a herd mentality, meaning that if one person declares something, it doesn't take long for others near him to say 'me too!!' 1) just to feel that they belong in something, 2) to get 'behind' the bully so that they themselves will not be attacked by said bully, 3) just for guiltless fun because if anything goes wrong (snitch to teach or a fight) they will just blame the bully and fade away. Stupid people don't need a reason to hate you or to attack you (how do yo think they got that stupid?) -- you could be doing everything you can to conform into the crowd and not to offend anyone but they will still find a reason to attack you because you are an easy target. Go find some other classmates who are more mature and are willing to help you, or just bite the bullet and ask the teacher for help. Try to ignore them and develop a thicker skin, believe me this will help you in the future. Fighting never really solves anything (believe me, I've gotten in to a few) it just broods more hatred and more bullying, but if you have to (ie leaving you no choice), make sure you have some combat experience! Almost all fights of this nature go to the ground so you should practice wrestling with some friends.
I hope some of this helps, or at least give you some perspective on you situation.
