Seriously, can another Brit translate this High school and college business?

High school is years 7-11, and College is 6th form?

In a nutshell... U.S schools have you go 12 years, with 5 years going to a lower school.. 3 years to a bridge type of school, 4 to a high school. College is anything after the 12 years of education.
