I totally expected this to be coming from some religious nuts in the US.
Well it is, after all, the capital nation of the catholic church, so I wouldn't be surprised if a few religious nutjobs were involved in the accusations.

Wow, that's just ridiculous. How can anyone in his right mind support those Prosecutors? Ahh, I won't even think about that anymore, it's too frustrating, so...was I the only one who was hoping to read an article about some evil scientists who have build a doomsday device which can cause earthquakes?

Being that this is in Italy and that the current government is essentially defunct, this is rather unsurprising. And unfortunate. The justice system in Italy (and the wider political system) is an utter joke, in no small part due to that Fucktard Berlusconi; a total clown who wears his nose on his nob.

Part of me wants to see them win the lawsuit. Just to see how far we can push the legal system.

I like Berlusconi. Yeah, so he's corrupt - provided you go by standard moral codes. Otherwise, he doesn't seem so bad. He's definitely entertaining - which is all you need from a country like Italy. It's like France, without the pretence of being a superpower.

On topic - yeah...what the hell. Please tell me the government hasn't taken this seriously.

Also - a quick note - Roman Empire....evil? Imperialist, maybe. Not evil, though. Our entire culture stems from the Romans, and nobody has managed an empire like their's since, and if they were truly evil, they'd have lost their grip within months.

HOW ARE THEY JUSTIFYING THIS??? SEISMOGRAPHS DON'T PREDICT EARTHQUAKES, THEY JUST TELL YOU IF ONE IS HAPPENING!

Maybe the prosecution just finished a screening of The Core and now blame all earthquakes on science.

I can tell you that the only time we heard about this thing was when they explained that a technician of the Physics institute had predicted the earthquake and no one had listened to him.
Which was... three years ago, I think.

This to say, we certainly haven't heard about it from a long time. If it's because the whole thing died out or because we just don't give a fuck, well, no one knows. Or cares.

Shouldn't they blame the pope as well?
After all, he's in direct contact with God, who caused this earthquake and he didn't warn us either!

Ok Italy this is your last chance. I'm only going to let this pass because your Pizzas are so delicious.

Hopefully justice and common sense will prevail. Though it is a thorny issue. Do geologists have the duty to warn about possible earthquakes, and did they do all they could? Were signs ignored or the authorities not told in time? I can see this case bogging down.

The above technician told the authorities, only he missed of a day or two. The guy in charge said he was a buffoon and brought him in front of the justice, and then the earthquake happened and many 'oops, my bad' were heard.

My theory remains: too much contact with the catholic church is the reason why their court system is so damn stupid, and im sticking by it.

Where religion gets a foothold stupidity always follow.

Pfffff, if only. We're Catholics only in name- the Pope might be telling us the cure for cancer and yet we'd rather watch the paint dry.

Nah, the court system is good. Politicians are just ruining it forever.
