Being that this is in Italy and that the current government is essentially defunct, this is rather unsurprising. And unfortunate. Hopefully justice and common sense will prevail. Though it is a thorny issue. Do geologists have the duty to warn about possible earthquakes, and did they do all they could? Were signs ignored or the authorities not told in time? I can see this case bogging down.
