Okay my lastest match in invasion on Halo: Reach was, well it was a godawful disaster. My whole team left after they couldn't get invasion slayer (a crap game type in my opinion), so that leaves me versus another team. Now I thought that since Bungie would make it hard on quiters to give people an incentive to stay in the game, that they made an incnetive for the last person in a team in which everyone but themself had left to stay in the game and get their ass handed to them so the game wouldn't premuturly end. I thought that and stuck it out, 44 deaths and 7 kills later I got minimal credits.

Needless to say this pissed me off, if your going to punish quiters for quitting reward people for doing to opposite, staying in a 1 on X match so it won't be ended is an admirable thing (the jackasses who teabagged me didn't think so) and the person really has no reason to stay otherwise. So why didn't they do this, it would only make logical sense to make a reward for someone for forgiving accidental betrayals (trust me it happens alot with grenades being amped up now) and staying in a match when everyone on your team has left so the game doesen't end. So why don't they?

I may be just fueled on rage to do this, but I'd like your opinions on this as well.

Yeah, at the point at which your entire team has quit, they should probably reward you for quitting as well. Seriously, it's no fun to be an entire team against one guy. Not that it's fun being one guy against an entire team either.

I've always found I seem to slaughter when playing with lower numbers. Admittedly, I have not played much, but I figured just having more targets was reward enough.

... Wow, okay, that sounded wanky. For clarification, I'm not trying to show off or anything. I'm just stating my experience.

I guess it is more difficult when you are entirely by yourself. You don't have any meat shields to draw heat.
In that case, I guess maybe they should implement a triple point system or something. At least make sure the poor idiot who stays behind makes about the same amount of points he usually would.

I don't know. I don't really play much online multiplayer.

You shoulda quit out of a loosing situation and just searched for a new game.
Didn't know that it would screw me over in the end at the time.
If it's just you vs everyone else then you're generally screwed.

I don't think there's any way for the developer to do something to make 1 vs a whole team game worthwhile. Even if that 1 guy that stayed gets some kind a benefit stat-wise, it's still not going to be a fun game. There's nothing wrong with quitting a game you know you not going to have fun with. I never quit when I play online unless I'm facing glitchers, my whole team quits, someone is team killing, etc. There's no reason to stay in a game that you not going to enjoy, your time is worth more than that.

Because people would exploit it. Plain and simple. They would all leave so the single player would get the bonuses or whatever then do it for the next person the next day or something like that.
That seems like a lotta effort for a few extra credits, I can't imagine many people going along with the idea that all your friends will ditch you to fight 1 vs X for 30 minutes just to get a couple of hundred credits, it just seems like too much effort for the reward.

You got credits that your quitting teammates did not get. There is your gift. What? Do you want an extra little parting gift for playing the game the way it was designed? Bungie isn't going to make an exception just because you didn't quit. The whole point of the system is to punish quitters, it's focus isn't to reward those who don't.

Actually yes, the game isn't meant to be played 1 vs 6 outside of the campaign. How about everytime someone who isn't on your friends list, in an Xbox live party with you or recieved or sent any form of communication to you in the last 2 days leaves, every person on your team who falls under this criteria, including yourself, gets a 50 point handicapped bonus?

Bungie shouldn't have to bend over backwards to keep people like playing after someone has left. They are punishing players who leave and if you haven't looked on Bungie.net in the last few days, you would see that the addition isn't exactly working. I know you're a little peeved, but why should they reward you when their own little plan to scare people straight hasn't been as successful as they hoped. In fact, my only run in with it was because I was continuously booted from games for accidental betrayals.

Bungie shouldn't need to reward you to keep playing their game when the odds are stacked against you. Not only that, but invasion has ended up kind of screwed up since players can easily spawn camp you.

Your time spent in a match that's not fun is NOT worth the 50 point or whatever bonus; just leave and find a better match.

50 points per person is 250 points in my case, 5 people left.

It's still not worth your time to play a 1 vs the whole team match. Everyone has a limited amount of time on this planet, why spend it doing something you don't enjoy especially when you DON'T have to do it?
