Well, Zach Snyder is a man who forgets colors exist from time to time (or the majority of the time). Most of Man of Steel was gray, which was one of my problems with his aesthetic choices, so this outfit's colors are pretty much par for the course. I mean he even managed to make Superman's blue and red spandex look dull and washed out, so this is probably the best anyone could have hoped for with regards for his version of Wonder Woman.Mikeyfell said:Uh oh they picked the version of her costume without long pants!
Take a shot every time someone calls this sexist.
She kinda looks like Wonder Woman as re-imagined by someone who forgot what a color is
Being, brown, copper...
I just hope the movie isn't as bad as Man of Steel
I feel like, at least for the purposes of Man of Steel, Snyder is washing out the colors to avoid the visual campiness of previous Superman films. Unfortunately, what he doesn't realize is that campiness doesn't come from color scheme alone, and when we have bright and colorful superhero romps like the Marvel films to compare them to, making the colors that desaturated just makes the eyes thirsty for color.Dirty Hipsters said:Well, Zach Snyder is a man who forgets colors exist from time to time (or the majority of the time). True to form, the first person to bring that up in the thread isn't someone calling it out but someone assuming that they will.Mikeyfell said:Uh oh they picked the version of her costume without long pants!

I suppose he was probably going for gritty realism and ended up with dull.ShadowsofHope said:It's not the worst I could have imagined, but it's far from the best as well. Her body structure doesn't exactly scream "amazonian warrioress" either, even if her armor does.
Also, goddamn. Zach Snyder doesn't want happiness anywhere in his movies does he? I look at those posters and wonder just what the hell is supposed to attract my interest to the movie..
I just did a text search for the word "sexist" on this page.Mikeyfell said:Uh oh they picked the version of her costume without long pants!

Zeus is her father. Well, at least in the new continuity. I'll forgive you if you choose to ignore that, because I try to forget most of it myselfWHY GOD WHY DO THEY KEEP DOING AWFUL THINGS TO WALLY WEST HE WAS THE GREATEST FLASH EVERANDICAN'TBELIEVETHEYARETREATINGHIMLIKEGARBAGEGODDAMNITAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHH!!!!8bitOwl said:I don't like it any bit.
- Somehow, that eagle feels too American. And if it's not American... well, the eagle is the symbol of Zeus. Isn't WW a feminist character?
LetalisK said:I didn't think she'd look like a good Wonder Woman when she was announced and I was right. She looks...petite. But that could be because I already know she's a shortie and I expect wonder woman to be tall.
Where are ya'll getting the idea that she is short? Not defending her as choice or anything because what I've seen from her acting does not impress me(She was in the Fast and Furious movies and had a cameo in Date night. But for an international model turned actress I guess she does alright), but Gal Gadot is 5'9". Which for a woman is pretty tall. But what I wonder is if movie magic and camera angles can make a 5'7" Tom Cruise look the same height or taller than his co-stars without heels why do they need to put them on Ms. Gadot?AccursedTheory said:They're raised heels. The Rogue Wolf said:Not sure I approve of the combat heels (though at least they're not stilettos or something equally impractical), but other than that... it actually looks something like what a warrior would wear to battle.
It looks to me like they're solid raised heels, not stilettos. The angle and lighting make it kind of difficult to tell though.Muspelheim said:The stillettos are a bit odd
Of all the things, that bothers me least. Mostly because they'll probably raise that poor girl up a smidgen so she's not staring at everyone's nipples throughout the entire movie.
It depends on who is drawing her. If it is the "house" style then she is either super skinny or has an exaggerated hourglass figure. But artists that draw in a "house" style tend to draw all their women alike to the point that the only way to tell heroines apart is by hair color and costume. They do similar things for the male characters expect it will be big and beefy for the heroes, and monstrously huge for the villains. Artists with a more varied style tend to draw characters like Wonder Woman, Big Barda or She-Hulk(to give a marvel example) as both taller and buffer than other female characters.Kolby Jack said:*cough* Erm, anyway... I think it looks fine. I don't see the "petite" thing people seem to see. Wonder Woman has always had a supermodel figure like most female superheroes. Could they have broken the trend and gone with a little more meat for our amazon princess? Sure. Should they be blamed for not doing it? Nah. I'm more concerned about her ability to act, but we'll see when the thing comes out.
Ben Afflick is 6' 3". Henry Cavill is 6' 1".mecegirl said:LetalisK said:I didn't think she'd look like a good Wonder Woman when she was announced and I was right. She looks...petite. ....Besides the obvious its a lady and thus flat footwear is a no no... Some "Greek" looking strapy sandals would look more appropriate, especially once covered by the armor that she is wearing in the picture .
