Like I was saying, May just be me but always found City of God's story much like Amores Perros's uplifting. Due to how so many ended up fighting for what they believed in even though tons all ended up on the wrong side. You could see though the main character's eyes the goals and ambitions that drove all the characters.Jumpman said:Uplifting? seriously? I admit it ends alright for the main character, but the last shot in the movie is of ten year old boys with guns talking about killing other kids. There are also scenes of rape, murder, and torture.
I wasnt saying it was just like se7en, but I think that both are movies with dark themes and disturbing scenes. The difference was that in COG I felt like the creators had more to communicate than simply "life really sucks. there's allot of fucked up shit."
Though I agree City of God was dark, But over all it was more like Goodfellas then Se7en I thought. Though they were both thought provoking films and classics I thought on looking at humanity.
