To those hoping for an appearance from the Kingdom Hearts crowd, you might not want to get your hope up too much.

The framing is that this is all taking place in an arcade, and thus far all the clear, confirmed characters we've seen are from games that could at least theoretically be arcade games if I'm not mistaken. The way it's all set up, I doubt we can expect to see characters from games that don't have an arcade equivalent or could be made into an arcade equivalent. Which means that games like RPGs and Adventure Games or other games that wouldn't work so well in an arcade setting are unlikely to have any characters make an appearance - including Kingdom Hearts.
Maybe not, I mean Bowser was never in any arcade. He was launched on a nintendo home system and stayed on one.
There actually is an arcade version of the original Super Mario Bros. With ramped up difficulty to make kids lose more quarters I'm guessing.

To everyone bitching about Zangief being a bad guy, did anyone ever stop to think maybe he's the therapist for the bad guys?

OT: Movie looks awesome.

This is relevant to my interests.

but damn, Disney must have paid a fortune to use all those copyright charecters. I see Nintendo, Sega, Capcom, and Namco at least. And Mario must be the most busy guy ever in that world, as he is in like what 50 games. Unless each new game gets it's own mario.
Well they could run with the whole Mario family line that was brought up in Yoshi's Island. So it could be there is a lineage of Marios that work in each game. Same could be said for Bowsers, since there have been baby Bowsers.

But of course, they probably didn't look that deeply into the whole thing.

Mario Bros, yes, but not Bowser. He was never on an arcade machine.

Hey, did any one else catch Kano from Mortal Kombat in the trailer?
Yeah, sitting next to the left of the zombie? No-one else has seemed to mention him being in the trailer...
Holy shit, yeah! I didn't notice it was him right away. He has a metal arm in the trailer for some reason, but yeah!

Aside from the miscast of Mr. Zangeif as a villain, this looks awesome. :3

Nope, if you watch the trailer, you see that he opens by saying, "Hi, I'm Zangief, I'm bad guy", then they all say "Hi Zangief."

I always considered Zangief a bad guy, before I even saw any of the Street Fighter movies.

Main reason. He represents the USSR and I've always seen the USSR as bad. Besides, he never looked like a nice guy in the first place.

Damn, I must've missed it, I watched the trailer off the Xbox dashboard and it had to buffer every 5 god damn seconds >.>

Yeah, I thought it was odd that Zangief was a bad guy all of a sudden, but I thought that was just because I'm not that big on Street Fighter and that I had missed something.

I'm not sure about this movie, it looks like it got potential, but we'll have to see. I'll most likely get around to watch this sometime.
Well, it's got fanservice going for it, but Advent Children proved years ago that you need more than tons of fanservice to make a good film.

I have to wonder who paied who to get all these cameos into the game. If the game companies paied to get the characters in as sort of advertizement, or Disney to borrow the rights to each character.

Also, this is a movie about video games, made by Disney. if a SINGlE reference to Kingdom Hearts isn't made I'm going to demand my money back.
They appear to be using old characters, or quite widely known characters. Considering that the two main game worlds that we see in the trailer are made up, I doubt it.

I love the look of this. Can't wait for it to come out!
I also genuinely really laughed at the 'Why are you so freakishly annoying' bit, to my own surprise.

Can't wait for the cameos, either.
Want list:
Master Chief
Grayson Hunt (From Bulletstorm)
John Marston
And of course, Crash Bandicoot and Spyro
Hopefully with a bit of Ratchet and Clank in there too.
So far, the only characters that have shown up seem to be mostly Capcom or Nintendo related. Considering that they made a generic shooter world up, I doubt that the Chief will be in there.

I know Grayson and John sure wouldn't be.

I have no clue what the purple woman, the devil guy, and the robot are from though. Might be generic stand-ins.
I can even see Sub-Zero and Tiger Woods in there.

I'm looking forwards to this.

Meh, it had to have the stupid Pixar look to it.

Make the whole thing actually look like a video game; then I'll be interested. As it stands, I have never and will never bite solely at the nostalgia carrot dangling thing; you've got to be more clever than that. This is just the typical "bad guy isn't so bad" story with video game references shoehorned in so people who are less inclined to see a movie will throw their money at it, too.

I know, but I can hope.
I didn't say it was a realistic want list hahaha.
Still, Crash and Spyro are kid-friendly classics, they'd better at least make a background appearance.

This is outstanding.

However, the shit teen RnB pop music playing through the second half of the trailer set my teeth on edge. Eurgh, poor choice, Disney.

Oh I do hope they have a support group room for silent protagonists show up at some point.

No No, I do mean Super Mario bros. As in the game that came standard with every NES. Look it up on Google or something you'll see what I'm talking about.
