I am now firmly of the opinion that "lesser-known" is completely dependent on where you're from, seeing as Flogging Molly, Mindless Self Indulgence, Drop Kick Murphys, Streetlight Manifesto, and Aphex Twin are all decently well-known where I am.
My two cents would be Dresden Dolls (relatively known, I guess), Amanda Palmer (well-knownish on these forums for some reason), and Humanwine.
