When I get depressed, I put on a comedy programme and that usually cheers me up. Unless I'm too far down in the depression, then I just go to bed and wait for it to go away...

I guess I'm in the same place you are, I feel like I should be doing more, that I'm wasting my time just watching tv (which I really am) but sadly the best form of motivation for me is to have someone encourage me, dare me, or better yet tell me they're relying on me to do something (it makes me feel special and hence less depressed :L). Sadly I don't have a lot of friends so I often just watch tv instead :L

I remind myself that it could be nice to be alive. And that if you learn to love, then you might love life. And then on, I try to be more loving :).

I remind myself that I am pretty much the boss, and I will never be inferior to any other human. And then I play (and sing along to) songs like You're the Best Around, Eye of the Tiger, I'll Make a Man Out of You, and YMCA. Oh, and E.G.G.M.A.N.

I hardly ever feel down, though.

Digging the positive vibes man!

OT: I motivate myself by thinking about how crappy it would feel to go to bed not accomplishing ANYTHING AT ALL.

Works for me. Sometimes.

Eh... I just lay around and cry myself to sleep with a bit of sad music... give it a month or so and I'm pretty much back to normal... which isnt saying much considering that's part of my nightly ritual anyway...<.<

I realize that I'm doing better off than all of those living in 3rd world/2nd world countries, have a warm home, food, and the internet.
So I say "Up yours" to my sadness, enter the strange parts of youtube, and eat me some Cheesy crackers--OMNOMNOM

I usually don't need to, I'm too awesome. When I do, I mostly analyze the cause of the sadness, to see how ridiculous it really is. Sometimes I also like to take a kitchen knife and laugh hysterically to myself.

If I'm honest, I usually feel crap until I burn myself out and start being happy again. Not the best way of doing things, I guess.

Puns.

Puns everywhere.

Aside from that I usually listen to some chilled out music and read one of my favourite PG Wodehouse books.

Get a cup of tea, and do something I am good at! Anything, as long as I don't suck at it! Like stick on an old game I am good at, and purder everything in one stage... especially if I am playing something like Ace Combat, which I am good at, and you get the awesome factor of Aerobatics as well, to make your self feel better! Nothing like walking away from a game while feeling like a god!!

If I am particularly bad, then it's nostalgic kids movie/ pixar movie time! Stick on Small Soldiers or Wall-e and I am happy all day!!

Motivate out of depression? I've never been able to do that, and I envy anyone who can.

when I'm in a bad mood though, I can usually just go over a few pages of LoLcats and feel better.
