...Well, no one else seems to care about discussing this sort of thing with me, so I'll try here.

Basically, I've had almost NO fun with my Wii after beating the few good games on it, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl has gotten boring, and really isn't quite as awesome as I hoped it'd be, and I've lost interest in the constant tedious repeating adventures of Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and so on, so I may convert to a PS3.

Is this a decent move? Also, what are some good games to get to start off with for the PS3? Some personal opinions from fellow gamers on the net would be most appreciated...

EDIT:: Cool! Got more replies than I thought I would! Thanks all for the input!...

- - P.S. I don't have any friends, especially not gaming friends, so that's not really an issue. And I could care less about the blue-ray thing. And the 360 doesn't really have anything that interests me beyond Gears of War and the "must-buy" non-exclusives like Fallout 3, Bioshock, etc, and plus I don't want to take a chance with that stupid red ring of death thing... AND I'm a huge God of War fan, and the GoW III coming out I REALLY REALLY want!... So yeah...

If you're not having fun with your current system and the PS3 has stuff you like then go for it. Start off with Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Metal Gear Solid 4, Fat Princess, R&C, inFamous, and Resistance.

Well, if you're losing satisfaction with the wii, then go ahead and switch. You've got a whole different set of games to play, and a whole bunch of beautiful graphics to discover. Prototype, inFamous, Call of Juarez, LittleBigPlanet, Fat Princess, Prince of Persia...all depends on what your gamestyle is.

Just make sure you get a model that's backwards compatable...In case you want to play PS2 games...Or even PSone games if you're retro

Wow how does that work out who would be stupid enough to do that?

I would definitely switch out because the Wii isn't good at all mine just sits there like a antique.

I never had high hopes for Brawl, but I basically had the opportunity to pick out a Wii game and it was the one in stock that I knew would suck the least.

My Wii is getting plenty of use out of my recently. I recently started another playthrough of No More Heroes on the hardest setting, having fun with that. I am a big Resident Evil fan, so I love playing through the Umbrella Chronicles sometimes, even if it is just a level or two. On that note, Resident Evil 4 is another great Wii game that everyone should play (fan or not).

You say Mario is tedious, but I love Mario games. I would say Super Mario Galaxy is the best game on the Wii by far. It just seems to PERFECT. I still have some challenges to complete, and anyone who says it is "the easiest game ever" hasn't completed everything.

I love rail shooters, and the arcade ports of Ghost Squad and The House of the Dead 2 are really good (House of the Dead 3 not so much...). I also enjoyed the new take on the series with The House of the Dead: Overkill, but quality-wise it will never pass the original trilogy.

I guess the point of all this is, there is fun to be had with the Wii. Everybody seems to hate the Wii, its "bad graphics", "casual games", and "waggling dildos(i don't know...)", but I think anybody could have fun with the Wii if they just gave it a chance, there really is alot of good stuff out there.

You might want the console back after you sell it too, I had a Game Boy at one point and I sold it, and I really wish I had it sometimes.
Super Mario Galaxy was ALMOST perfect! It was a bit to linear for my tastes, but still as awesome as a Mario game can be. And Ive beaten No More heroes like 5 times on about every setting, so yes! that was fun too! I have had some major fun with the system, Brawl was fun at first, Raving Rabbids was awesome, and Metroid 3 was great (for the first playthrough anyways)! House of the Dead and Umbrella Chronicles dont interest me in the slightest, unfortunately...

But thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated!...

Go for it.
Some good games would be Resistance (I prefer FoM over 2) Ratchet and Clank, Echochrome (off psn), Killzone 2, Fat Princess (psn), PixelJunk (psn), GTA4 has some fun online play, and I really liked Flow (psn). Oh and Prototype is also really good.

*Enter the Nintendo fanboy*
If you're not having fun with, then sell it online. You'll get money instead of credit.

If the rumors are true all PS3s could be getting backwards compatibility through a firmware update at some point. Also, all PS3s can play PS1 games.

I say go for it, the PS3 has some great game on it. I don't think you will be disappointed. Be sure to get one of the big models, you will want that hdd space! Or just buy another hdd, but maybe not a ssd ;)

I wouldn't have owned a wii in the first place, but yes I'd have to agree that a PS3 is better. Of course that's mainly because there's a Level 5 game on it and the PS3 always has the better game if a game's released on more than one console.

I did that last Christmas; I'm so happy I did. If you get one or two games with your console, you'll be well occupied until the 2010 flood of all-the-awesome-games arrives. :D And, if you finish your games really fast, you'll never be bored because DEMOS ARE AWESOME. <3 And so is PSN.

Oddly, the only full-price game I've got is Bioshock. I downloaded Flower and Battlefield 1943 and am really happy with those. And of course, multitudes of demos keep me happy. <3

I'd say keep the Wii a little while longer, since it's getting quite a few of games, such as Muramasa: The Demon Blade, A Boy and His Blob, Red Steel 2, Metroid Prime Trilogy, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid: Other M, etc. If those don't do it for you, than I guess selling it is your only option.
