Not in the slightest. European PS3s never had the emotion chip, they always used software emulation. As well as certain models of US PS3 after they removed emotion chip but before they got rid of PS2 emulation entirely.Jirlond said:Its impossible the new PS3's had the emotion engine chip removed, so it's a hardware and a firmware issue. The slim ps3 rumours also state they may reintroduce the technology.j0z said:If the rumors are true all PS3s could be getting backwards compatibility through a firmware update at some point. Also, all PS3s can play PS1 games.Macgyvercas said:Just make sure you get a model that's backwards compatable...In case you want to play PS2 games...Or even PSone games if you're retro
I say go for it, the PS3 has some great game on it. I don't think you will be disappointed. Be sure to get one of the big models, you will want that hdd space! Or just buy another hdd, but maybe not a ssd![]()
I would definitely recommend getting a PS3, but not yet. Wait for an announcement or price drop of some sort, SOMETHING is coming soon. Also, don't sell your Wii, as I expect Metroid: Other M to be the bees knees.
P.S. Thanks
