Agreed. Completely different genres. I like Aliens better, personally. Alien 3 was garbage, though.jamanticus post=18.73744.808119 said:All of this is a matter of opinion, really. I suppose the main reason why people would differ on their opinion of Aliens is that it was much more of an action/adventure movie than Alien, and there wasn't quite as much claustrophobic, anticipatory horror in Aliens compared to Alien.......Xhumed post=18.73744.807057 said:Matter of opinion- I think Alien is the better film.jamanticus post=18.73744.806791 said:Aliens!.... Alien Resurrection... despite being the black sheep of the series... is very interesting. Check out the IMDB page: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118583/
Directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet - the guy who did Amelie and City of Lost Children!?!
Written by Joss Whedon!
Starring Ron "Hellboy" Perlman!
The whole start of the movie is basically Firefly and Firefly's characters can definitely be traced back to Resurrection, too.
Not that great of a movie, though.
Oh, I know! Johnny Mnemonic was HORRIBLE. When I looked for what hack of a writer wrote the script for it, I was blown away when it was the original author.Xhumed post=18.73744.808513 said:The Special Edition of Alien 3 is a vast improvement, however.
Also, Charles Dance and Pete Poselthwaite are in it!
Yeah, Alien Resurrection was pretty dire though. Even very good writers have bad days (e.g. William Gibson wrote the script for Johnny Mnemonic. Ugh...)

acually road warrior was first and mad max beyond the thunderdome was second (mad max was terrible)EnzoHonda post=18.73744.808271 said:The Road Warrior (Mad Max 2). I agree, although the sound quality on the previously deleted scenes makes me want to cry.Xhumed post=18.73744.808513 said:The Special Edition of Alien 3 is a vast improvement, however.OuroborosChoked post=18.73744.808376 said:Agreed. I've only seen the original and Road Warrior, but I do love them both.(ZHU) Michael post=18.73744.808627 said:acually road warrior was first and mad max beyond the thunderdome was second (mad max was terrible)EnzoHonda post=18.73744.808271 said:The Road Warrior (Mad Max 2). What's wrong with HL2's graphics?axia777 post=18.73744.807869 said:The Empire Strikes Back. BEST SEQUEL EVER MADE. PERIOD. The Dark Knight comes after that. What a good movie.
As for games? Half-Life 2 obviously. So good I still play it. I would seriously buy it over again if Valve came out with a super hi-def, updated graphics version of HL2 with 7.1 surround sound.
I'll disagree with that. I loved Batman Begins, most of my love for The Dark Knight was solely based on hype. The second time I saw it I was much less enthused by it.jamanticus post=18.73744.806765 said:Don't forget about The Dark Knight- vast improvement on Batman Begins (even though it didn't have Liam Neeson in it......Oh well.....)
I suppose I'll respect your argument, Shivari. Probably the main reason I liked The Dark Knight better than its predecessor was that it had a more complex plot and more black humor than Batman Begins.Shivari post=18.73744.808730 said:I'll disagree with that. Except for the matrixAltorin post=18.73744.808738 said:basically the middle part of every trilogy.
The second time I just couldn't get over how illogical the plot was. Hell, even the first time everyone I went with was like "Yeah, one of those boats would've been in flames in seconds if it were real." And the Joker's whole plan to get into jail but then escape as Batman went to save Harvey and the girl who he had no chemistry with? That's way too convoluted for my tastes and would never work. Basically, without Heath Ledger that movie would've been average.jamanticus post=18.73744.808745 said:I suppose I'll respect your argument, Shivari.
