Might want to spoiler some of that for the poor unfortunates who haven't had a chance to play it. Personally I agree for those reasons but also a few others. Partially to do with the multiplayer and the fact you'll be crusading for two ambiguous characters, but mainly because I like to hold up bioshock as an example of originality and an unnecessary sequel undermines that. Still, we'll wait and see, after all there's still a lot of stuff to explore in bioshock, pity they seem to have dropped that in favour of making things up (like the big sisters and the feral splicers).

Halo 2-3
Need for Speed- The last truly awesome NFS was Underground. Most Wanted was decent, but the rest after NFSU just sucked. And EA still keeps shoveling them out at us.

Medal of Honour: Rising Sun.

MoH: Frontline was an absolute belter of the last gen. RS was just slow, dull and uninspired. It's short game time turned out to be it's one saving grace.

If anyone said MGS4, I'll have to do something drastic...

Like give them a good stern talking to.

Really, I haven't hated most sequels. DMC2 was bad, but beyond that I like most of the sequels I play.

Fallout 3. Terrible game, I can't believe people could fool themselves into thinking it was anything other than a shameful franchise rip-off. Oblivion was better, for goodness sakes!
Calling Oblivion good, great way to devalue any opinion you have. If you're gonna try to be edgy and cool, you claim nothing beats the old Fallout games. FO3 is a million times better than Oblivion, on so many levels.

Parasite Eve II.
Wut? PE2 was better than the first? Story was a little weaker, but gameplay was loads better, and it was a lot more fun. Plus, the bonus modes added nice replay.

Final Fantasy 7, 12 and Tactics are all set in Ivalice and in Tactics, Cloud and Balthier come back in time (PSP version) so they're probably the same world just at different times
7 wasn't set in Ivalice. The games set in Ivalice are: FFT, FFTA, FFTA2, FF12, Vagrant Story.

Tactics created the world, with a couple areas hinted at that you never saw. Vagrant Story continued the world with the hinted at area of Lea Monde. FFTA's use the location names, and expanded the creature set, but aren't really considered canon history, being imaginary and all. 12 is a few centuries after FFT, so cities have changed, but general locations and thier names have remained.

Yes, I REALLY like the Ivalice world. I really wish FF11 or the next FF14 would be set in Ivalice. The races are so much better. Nu Mou are better than Taru, Viera better than Mithra(friggin Japan and thier catgirls), Bangaa are mostly better than Elvaan(male elvaan at least made for good eyecandy), and the Seeq are at least less lame than Galka. Note worthy rage momemnt, the newest Ivalice race of demon girls is being added to FF14. WTF are you thinking Square?

The title explains it really. I want to know which game sequels YOU think shouldn't have been made.

In my opinion, Fable II shouldn't have been made. Guns, pets, prostitution and jobs. JOBS, in a game. Sorry but heroes should be paid for saving the world.
I didn't like Fable II too. I didn't like that it had guns, I liked when it was a more medieval/fantasy/ancient kinda time.

In any case, I can't quite analyze why, but I played Fable I before Fable II (bought Fable on Xbox Originals from Live) and I just liked Fable more. I played through it, nonstop, and I really, really liked it, but I couldn't play Fable II for more than 2 and a half hours. It just bored me.

Any of the numbered or subtitled Sequels to ALIEN!*

*Aliens was neither a numbered nor subtitled sequel, it's just Aliens.
;) That's a pretty brave statment, seeing Aliens is, together with Terminator 2, always mentioned together with the sentence "better than the original".
You've read my statement very badly there. Aliens is exempt because it has neither a number nor does it have subtitle (like, I don't know, 3, Resurrection or Requiem). It's just called Aliens, hence the little line underneath.

Read things properly darn it!

I'd love to bring the cop-out argument saying "I was drunk". So I will. It's true :( Believe me - but I still apologize.

Your not alone, Fable 1 is one of my favorite games, but 2 was an abomination that was traded in the next day.

Twisted Metal 3 and Call of Duty: World at War (except for the zombies) come to mind.

Twisted Metal 1 and 2 were both amazing games and Call of Duty 4 showed quite clearly that the past was... a thing of the past.

F.E.A.R. 2 shouldn't have been made. It was basically a rubbish, console dumbed down version of the brilliant F.E.A.R. and it made me dislike the franchise.

This is an easy one for me, any of the Spyro the Dragon games made on the PS2 ever. I mean the first three games were so great because they had a funny story and a likeable character and they had to ruin it by making the story and even Spyro all serious, I mean he is a purple dragon, the story doesn't need to be serious, same goes for the Sonic series being serious like Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06.

Likely to be Final Fantasy X-2 and Fable II for my choice. I say Fable II because it's not that it should have NEVER come out, but rather should have been in production longer so more can be put into it...and if possible, replace the piss poor boss at the end.

It's a new generation of gaming these days, meaning that more or less nearly all the creators for the best classic games ever can even succumb to what can only be described as "pokemon syndrome" this usually causes them to make sequels of their original games in succession as the quality of the video game decomposes rapidly as the series goes on.

Do the CD-i Zelda games count? Because me and I'm pretty sure everyone else wishes they never happened.
Oh god... I never expected something THAT bad popping up in this thread.
