@CA Been checking the spoilers every day! My favorite card so far is Olivia Voldaren. Might have to rebuild my vampire edh with her as the general. I think the double-sided cards might be a little awkward to play with at first but there are definitely some cool ones. Flashback making a comeback is awesome, and the new morbid mechanic looks pretty sick. I dunno what kind of standard deck I'll be playing come October but I can already tell for sure that my Vish Kal EDH is gonna get some sick new cards. As for Garruk, I guess it wouldn't be too surprising if he turned out to be a werewolf. He's also probably the 5 ability planeswalker they mentioned.

Oh, sweet! Well, if you get it up today or tomorrow I have the next couple days off so I should be able to put up a sheet right away.

@Fragrance: Given that they've already revealed Liliana's new card, which is awesome, BTW, I don't doubt that Garruk will be the five-ability walker. Although, since he probably transforms according to the checklist card, what are the odds his five abilities will be split over both sides? He might even be a one-way transform and have two abilities on one side and three on the other.

I tried an EDH deck once: mono red with Urabrask as my General. It didn't work out so well since everyone else in the six-player match pulled off some killer combinations, and I have yet to fully master the art of making a deck more than the sum of its parts. On the subject of decks, I built a new one recently: green/artifact, focusing on heavy hitter creatures such as Fangren Marauder backed up by Signal Pest. Also got a few blockers like Wall of Tanglecord to stave off the fliers.

@CA Yeah I think Liliana has some potential, her plus one is begging to be abused with cards like Vengeful Pharoah or anything else that benefits from being in the graveyard. Yeah, I imagine Garruk will have 3 abilities on one side and two on the other. One ability would probably to flip him.

Ah, yeah my first EDH didn't go so well either. Mono black with Khalitas Bloodchief of Ghet as my general I believe. It's a lot easier if you can get your hands on older cards and I've always found tutors to be invaluable. Ah, I actually just built an artifact type deck as well. I went with a blue black deck to use Tezzeret and Kuldotha Forgemaster as a sort of toolbox.

@Fragrance: I only own one planeswalker: Lorwyn Jace. I do have a Kuldotha Forgemaster, though; maybe I could build a pure artifact deck in a similar style to Machinations from Duels 2012. Kuldotha Forgemaster could provide an easy way to obtain a Colossus of some description. Preferably Blightsteel. Not sure which colours to use for instants and sorceries, though... thinking blue/red for counterspells and burning.

@CA Yeah, Forgemaster is ridiculously powerful since even in just Scars block there are artifacts that can answer just about anything. Using it to grab a Blightsteel at the end of their turn will almost always win you the game. Low on life? Grab a Wurmcoil Engine to fix that. They have a bunch of little dudes? Grab Contagion Engine and wipe their board. Or Steel Hellkite could have a similar effect. Blue is probably a must for counters to protect your forgemaster and other key artifacts and gives you the added bonus of being able to use Grand Architect.

@Fragrance: There's just one little issue there... I have none of the cards you just mentioned. =P

I dropped the Forgemaster, since all my artifacts are 4 or below to cast, and put a Sickleslicer in instead. This deck is designed to win through infect and proliferate: would be perfect if I had Contagion Engine, but I live with what I have. Got things like Fuel for the Cause, Steady Progress, Volt Charge... four Ichorclaw Myrs because they're awesome, backed up by Myr Galvanizer, Core Prowler and Throne of Geth.

Just realised, since I'm winning through infect, I have no need for Scrapyard Salvo or Concussive Bolt, which I originally allowed for. I do have a Phyrexian Metamorth, though, so that's in. Not sure what else to take now... two spare slots left. If only I had a couple more Viral Drakes...

Edit: Turns out I do have another one. Yay~
Filled the other slot with a Frost Breath for the lulz.

@CA Ah yeah it's always problematic when you don't have the cards you need. Have you thought about using either of the wellsprings? It has good synergy with Throne of Geth and goes great with Piston Sledge which is another good card for infect.

@Fragrance: I have Mycosynth Wellspring in my green/artifact deck, though I suppose Crush could work with it if I wanted to swap around a little. Not much in the way of artifact destruction in my green/artifact.

I don't normally go for land-production cards; it's probably because I don't play much, if any, green.

Well this should have been fairly obvious to anyone who has been paying attention.

Don't you love me
Don't you dare care for me
I will only bring you pain
All the Pleasure you can gather in this place
Will just amount to shame
All the bright colors I've ever loved will learn to fade
So bring back the womb O' God
Oh bring on the grave

How could he have been so careless?

How could he have taken so many chances?

He gently rocked in the corner of his room and muttered under his breath. The air was tinted blue as the light from his mood lamp streamed through the cloud of smoke that hung and wisped heavily through the compact bedroom he had called home. Candles and incense had given the room a scent of spice and cinnamon that only half covered the smell of alcohol and other illicit substances. A vaguely synthetic beat was emitted through the air and filled his mind with an odd combination of dread and serenity.

Tonight, he was going to die.

So this is what it's like
What it is like to disappear
With the music of the spheres still ringing in my ears

All he had wanted to do was help. All he wanted to do was catch the killer. And he had almost done it too. Had it not been for the treachery?

Someone had revealed his identity. That was bad enough...it had signed his death warrant. But then they had to balls to gloat about it. They had the audacity to believe that directly exposing him to the killer would be a great help to the cause.

Drew really wished that he could believe that the traitor had his heart in the right place. Maybe he tried to befriend the killer to get him to admit to a being the guilty party. The traitor had said multiple times that he was engaging in a ?Batman Gambit.? Thought he was some sort of goddamn chess master or something.

Fuck?how could I have been so careless?

How could I have taken so many chances?

So this is what it's like
What it is like to disappear
With the music of the spheres still ringing in my ears

Even when he had been exposed, he had tried to salvage the situation. He put out a blanket call to the other roles in a desperate attempt to buy more time. Had the arbiter come in and made his sacrifice, then there would have been fewer possible suspects. Had the medic actually heeded his call or even basic common sense, he would have survived to make the final deduction.

?FUCK! HOW COULD I HAVE BEEN SO CARELESS? HOW COULD I HAVE TAKEN SO MANY CHANCES??

His voice rang out against the relative silence of the cold walls. He was only greeted by the warm scent of cardamom and the soft haunting beats.

So this is what it's like
What it is like to disappear
With the music of the spheres still ringing in my ears

And like that, there he was.

?You?re right on time.? Drew spoke casually yet firmly as he rose to face his intruder. He had already mourned his coming death.

The shadowy figure stood in the door. The knife was already drawn and sharpened. Drew couldn?t be certain, but it seemed as though the killer?s hand was quivering. Was this silhouette nervous to kill again? Or was this the anticipation that comes with eliminating one?s greatest threat?

How will I find my way out of this?

?What? Aren?t you going to speak to me? Intimidation will do you no good here.?

The killer cleared his throat and spoke. His voice was quiet and ferocious.

?I don?t need you intimidated. I need you dead.?

?Eloquently spoken my dear murderer. I?m so glad that I can count on your colorful imagery and rousing speeches to strike fear in the hearts of the rest of your future victims.

The killer lunged forward and screamed harshly. ?YOU DARE MOCK ME!?? Before Drew could react, his back was against the wall with the blade dutifully lacerating his bicep.

How will I find my way out of this?

A single tear rolled down his face as he tried not to scream. The agony was almost overwhelming. Almost. A thin stream of blood had already made its way off his arm and began to stain the caramel colored carpet a deep crimson.

How could I have been so careless?

How could I have taken so many chances?

How will I find my way out of this?

?Any last words Spy??

?Give them hell.?

The killer withdrew slightly but kept the blade firmly in place. ?What the hell are you talking about??

Drew stared firmly and resolutely. ?Give them hell. I was betrayed by one person and left for dead by at least two others. It seems as though I was the only one who really wanted you dead. Don?t worry?they will catch you soon enough. I?ve left them more than enough clues for that. But in the meantime, show them a new world of pain. Maybe it will teach any survivors not to reject the help from those who have the information.?

The killer thought for a long moment before a dark smile twisted over his face.

How will I find my way out of this?

A body was discovered outside of a lonely house the next morning. It was littered with stab wounds and had been thrown from the third story window. The authorities knew immediately that it was another victim of the serial killer. However, they were baffled by the message found painted on the walls of the victims room in his own blood.

?You have yourself a deal spy.?

@Link Ooh, an excellently written death. But yeah, where the hell are the rest of the people with roles? I guess if Keelz were the medic that might explain why you weren't saved. I guess the Arbiter might be waiting until after the next vote but there's really other reason I can think of for the Medic to not save you.

@Fragrance: Yeah, I'm fairly baffled by it too. Then again, I have been repeatedly baffled by the actions that have been taken this round so I suppose just leaving my last question to expire unasked is pretty much par for the course.

Oh well, out of my hands. If I ever end up being the spy again, I will work though agents instead of exposing myself directly.

Anyways, glad you liked the death. Writing always seems to take my edge off. :p

@Link Well, if you had asked your third question, then the Arbiter wouldn't have been able to use his or her power anymore so I could see why you wouldn't want to do that since the Arbiter could have potentially ended the game and saved you.

@CA Did you get the message Link sent out? Keelzbunny forwarded that message to all 4 of the potential killers. Either in an attempt to aid the killer, or to find out who exactly the killer is. Still not quite sure which at this point. And that led to Link being killed since everyone knew he was the spy, yet the medic did not save him for some reason.

I don't get the logic behind keelzbunny's gambit.

We could spend the time killing keelz, but that'll do us no good except for a few laughs. Or we could work through the rest of the list.
