[[This looks a lot like werewolf (a game we play at gencon every year) I wish I had known about it earlier, looks like a load of fun.]]

God today has been incredibly boring.

@Counter: Should I get back into the Kingdom of Loathing?

@axle: Well, you've almost entirely missed the Crimbo event this year - which has resulted in a pretty good haul for my Display Case, plus a new familiar that I may or may not use - but there are a fair few new changes to gameplay. Valhalla has had a revamp, and there are new special challenge paths, implemented as of May 17th. Three are currently available: Bees Hate You, Way of the Surprising Fist and Trendy, the current one. If you had to pick one, I would choose Way of the Fist myself, even though it was replaced by Trendy recently. Excellent combat skills available, but you can't wield a weapon and your Meat earnings are pitiful.

To sum up: If you feel like it. I still play. ^_^

@Counter: I just checked in on my last character. Level 11 Seal Clubber with 35,000 meat. Not sure what I should do with him. I can't exactly remember what I was doing. I think I was on either the giants or the maguffin quest.

@axle: I'm currently a level 13 TT as my title details. Trying to speed my way through the war and the Naughty Sorceress so I can score myself an extra Instant Karma. Did I mention they revamped the Nemesis Quest ages ago? If you do it the proper way (i.e. without using the cheat option they eventually give you), you get Instant Karma, which is an adventure-giving spleen item, plus a gem that you can autosell for 10K.

Then once I beat the Naughty Sorceress... not really sure what I'll do. Maybe see if my clan is doing any dungeoning.

@Counter: I'll probably get back into it. It's times like this where I wish I could run Dawn of War 2

@axle: Hmm... I preferred the original Dawn of War series to DoW2 and its expansions. Dark Crusade was easily the best in that line: Soulstorm was mehdiocre. It was very heavy on processors, the campaign tried to cram too much into too little in its attempt to outdo the Kronus campaign, and the new 'air' units could be targeted by any simple infantry unit.

Soulstorm's faults aside, Dark Crusade was fantastic. Tau Empire gunlines for the win. Fire Warriors with Pathfinders providing line of sight easily outrange and outkill almost anything, in my experience.

Edit: On the topic of wanting to be able to run things, I really want to run Steam right now. Assassin's Creed 2, Fable, Saints Row 2 and Bastion (plus the Duels 2012 deck packs) are just sitting there, waiting for me to play them... I don't know which to start with.

@Counter: I wholeheartedly agree. i loved the original Dawn of War very much, and yes steam is seeking to bleed us dry.

good morning all (okay, here its actually 5 to noon)
what's this? a message from axle? okay...
ah whores.
I left through the side door of my shop at around 4AM. The moon was shining above me, distracting me from the one thing I did not want to be distracted from. The alleyway led to the street with my house, which Jak had recently moved into.
A dark figure crept up behind me, unnoticed. I began the walk home, which saved me a few extra precious seconds. The figure followed silently.
I stepped onto the road, too tired to look for cars. Another few seconds added to my dwindling lifespan. The figure was now moving faster, making more sound.
I span around, and saw the cloaked figure in the glow of a street light. My lips parted to scream, but before I could make a sound, a long, thin blade ran across my throat, severing arteries and veins, cutting my vocal cords, preventing air from reaching my lungs through my windpipe.
I stood motionless, then fell backwards. The fall seemed to take hours. My neck, then my chest, lungs, stomach all warmed up as the hot, red blood poured over them. The killer sheathed his blade and left quietly.
All life left me the moment I struck the kerb. The final sound I would hear was the sickening crack of my skull breaking like an egg.
At least we didn't lose another special person.
