I was just sitting in my armchair like usual this cold december night with a glass of fine scotch and my trusty old dagger at my side. As i was relaxing i started hearing some commotion out on the street. They were shouting something but i didn't really care, i was having a good time. That is until i heard the door on the bottom floor get bashed in. Barely managing to raise myself from my sitting position in time i soon saw several people in the doorway to my living room. I tried to reach for my weapon but they quickly rushed at me and pulled me to the ground.
A man whose face i couldn't see because i had my nose in the persian rug said angrily:
"You have been found guilty of the murder of Skye and the honest shopkeeper TrilbyWill. Your punishment will be exacted upon you by us as the jury."
"You've got the wrong man!" I screamed as good as i could with my mouth muffled by the rug but they didn't care. Their eyes shined with bloodlust and their chanting was beginning to scare me.
Feeling myself getting lifted up on the shoulder of one of the men i could do little to resist this treatment. As the mob left my abode with me on the back i looked back on my cottage for the last time. The pack of people eventually stopped after some walking in front of a cabin in the winter snow. They pushed open the door and threw me inside. I landed roughly on the wooden floor and i felt my nose taking a beating with some blood dripping from my face. Inside the cabin was a single chair with straps around it. I already had a bad feeling but this just cemented my fears.
"Your vile actions went unchecked for too long evidently. You didn't end at killing Skye but took a innocent barbers life as well. What say you in your defence?"
"You've got the wrong man you idiots, i'm not the killer here." I was coughing blood at this point as i was put in the chair without any sort of care for my wellbeing. They strapped the leather bonds around my body but did not end there. To ensure that i would not move they pulled out a sledge and two steel bolts. I looked at the instruments, terrified of what they were about to do. One of the men put one of the bolts over my foot and another raised the giant hammer. The pain as the steel burrowed straight through my flesh, bone and marrow was exruciating and i would've passed out had they not kept me awake. The blood started to pour from the wound but they were not yet finished. They repeated the process and once again i felt my very lifeforce leave my limb. Now completely stuck to the floor and chair but still screaming my lungs out they turned around. One of the other mob members had returned to the entrance.
"The blanket is in place atop the chimney sir."
"Good job now let's finish this." I stared at their stonecold faces with noothing but utter horror. But they were not done, at this point i was begging them to end it. I heard a "sloshing" sound behind me as if liquid hitting the floor. I soon realised what was happening. They were filling the entire cabin with gasoline. As i noticed this fact i saw a lighter flying towards my feet. As i saw the door closing a last icecold stare from the mob leader pierced my soul and then the flames started.
It was hotter than anything i've ever imagined, the scorching heat ripping at my flesh. I felt the heat ripping open my skin, torching my blood and cooking my very insides. But this was not to be my end. For as i soon realised smoke filled the cabin, with nowhere to go. The toxic gas found its way down my lungs and it wasn't long until i started consciousness. My last feelings of this life was the pain in my lungs and body and the terror of knowing that the killer still roams the streets...
