@Trilby: I don't know why this surprises you... I'm openly pro second amendment, try to troll liberal's, believe that no one deserves to have anything handed to them, and know that America would be better off without hundreds of politicians (What kind of nutjob wants to hold a public office, anyway?) throwing money at problems better solved by not spending any.

@Malyc The biggest issue that I have with Republicans is that they grant tax breaks to the rich, as someone who is fairly poor (I'm under the second poverty line-under $30 000 per year- here in Canada), it irritates me that the rich get the same level of tax breaks that I get, when they can actually afford it. Other than that, I disagree with them trying to force their religious beliefs into laws. I also disagree with the beliefs that Keynesian economics doesn't work, but that's a discussion that shouldn't happen here.

I'm a moderate who leans republican because some of the party's stances on business and mining come directly in line with my immediate interests. If that were not the case, I would be a full blown political apathetic.
I think that the two party system unnecessarily polarizes the populace on issues that shouldn't necessarily be related. What does my personal stance on abortion and gay marriage have anything to do with tax breaks and welfare policies? :/
