My doom is near. I am being dragged by both my arms to the public execution. I yell, "This is an injustice!" They pretend to not hear me. I feel my heart drop into my stomach as I approach to my to death. I scream, "It wasn't me! I swear!" Again, my cries go unnoticed. This is truly the true extent of a mob mentality; stubborn and powerful. I thrash one of my arms to make him let go, but my executioners grip tightens causing me to cringe in pain.
I stare down at the ground. "You're-" I whimper, "You're wrong. This is wrong. I didn't do it." A single tear falls from my eye onto the carnival ground. "Please. You have to understand!" I beg. The two stop. I raise my head, eyes glimmering with hope. All that hope is soon dashed as I finally see what lies before me. My doom. My death. One of those pendulum-pirate ship things.
"What will we do with a drunken sailor?! [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGyPuey-1Jw]" plays the song, blaring from the speakers.
I trash again, using my whole body instead of just one arm this time, however, my executioners grip tighten. I am forcibly strapped into a seat on the helm of the ship. No doubt this was made specifically for me.
Silence. A long waiting silence falls as watch the horizon to see the sea and beach where we all came in at. I gulp.
"Way hay and up she rises! Way hay and-" The shanty stops and a new song plays.
The pirate ship rocks back a little and in turn to rocks forward a little. Back and forth, back and forth; increasing in speed and height little by little. I look over to the starboard bow of the ship a notice a person, watching, smiling maliciously. My mind goes back goes back to how I spied on the killer. How I could only get a small glimpse of them each time, but now, I am certain I know who it is! "Stop!" I plead, as the stern seemingly touches the sky, "I know who do it! I swear I do!" Instead of ignoring me as usual, the only thing that responded to me was a loud buzzing noise. The ship clanked and whined as the momentum caused the helm to speed to the top of ride and fall, causing one big spin. And then, another, and another. The pirate ship spins out of control, faster and faster. The gforce forcibly open my mouth, disallowing me from screaming or begging. The wind whips past my ears, but another buzz is loud enough to hear.
Before I knew it, the pirate ship went off its axis and was flung into the horizon. The ship sunk into the sea in mere moments. The straps that bounded me were too tight and I died almost instantly.
