MLP: FiM.

I watched the first season with my little sister and we enjoyed it enough. Never felt like going back to season 2 though, we had enough. Glad I got off that boat before it sank.

American Horror Story.
Wait, I only made it through the first half of the first episode for that one.

Dexter. Got it as a present from my friend, watched it, thought "meh, it's alright I guess". There was stuff in it I really liked, but I felt it focused too much on the aspects I didn't like.

Breaking Bad. Torrented it to see what the fuss was about. Just didn't catch on with me. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad by any standards, in fact it was good by many standards. I just felt it was too heavy for me to consider entertainment to take my mind off things. If anything, it made me feel emotionally drained.

shows that only have one season that ive seen:

firefly
oblongs (animated black comedy but very good if you get into it)
newsroom (season 2 starts in a month, not great, but its pleasant)
silver surfer (boring)
spider-man unlimited (only worth it if you really like spider-man, besides it was cancelled before the run finished)
band of brothers

shows longer than 1 season that i only watched one season (or less) of:

walking dead - i stopped caring about everything in the story
breaking bad - same thing
stargate atlantis - never got around to catching up on it
american horror story - season 1's ending was incredibly bad... and weird
smallville - it just took forever for anything to happen
lost - it was going nowhere

I have only watched the first season of Breaking bad I tried to get into it, but I just found getting through the first season to be quite a chore, so I just gave up.

Desperate Housewives - I need company to watch it alongside me so we can make snide comments about the characters and scenes, otherwise the show has no real entertainment value. I quit because I refuse to watch it alone.

Nikita - I quit because there's literally no sense of danger. Even when the odds were massively stacked against her, her lover or any of her allies, the audience knows they're gonna get out unscathed or unharmed.

American Horror Story - I'd continue if Netflix would give us the second season.

"Falling Skies" - I wanted to like it. I really did. But the Spielbergian family-friendliness, lazy writing and lack of any true pay-off regarding the aliens was enough for me to pop the chute and bail out.

"Mad Men" - My wife gave me Season 1 as a birthday present. She thought it was stylish, fascinating and innovative. I thought it was a well written, well acted show in which literally nothing happens for forty-four minutes.

"The Walking Dead" - Man...so glad I'm not alone in this. I liked the show and was watching it pretty regularly on Netflix. Then I took a break from it and realized I had no real desire to resume.

"Big Bang Theory" - Didn't even make it past two episodes. It's just. Not. Funny.

Arrow- To me, the whole thing just screms 'we wanted to do batman but were not allowed so here is the next best thing'
'The next best thing' doesn't make it bad.

But what I really wanted to say is that so far, there's only been one season so far, so... Doesn't really mean anything when one says they've only watched one season...

Technically I haven't watched the full first season, but game of thrones.

I've watched about 4 episodes of season 2 of The Walking Dead, that show just has nothing.

The only show I can honestly say I've only seen exactly one season of is Firefly, for obvious reasons.

As to your first point, I agree being the next best thing does not make it bad. That being said, one of the reasons I did not enjoy it is because to me it was not a show about Green Arrow that they made because they could not do Batman, it is a show ABOUT Batman but with a few details changed. you change the names of the characters and the city and you have Batman. At least that is how I see it.

As to your seconed point, I included it in my post beacuse, while there has only been 1 series, it has been confirmed that a 2nd series is being made and I have no intention of watching it.

The Big Bang Theory. Everyone I spoke to said it was so great despite having a laugh track, and it was at first. But after a while they just stopped being interested in making a smart show. Mayim Biyalik helped it to limp along for a little bit longer, but it's just garbage now.

Terra Nova.
Flashforward.
I loved both of those shows. But only 1 season was ever made of both.
Terra Nova, sci-fi plus dinosaurs in a new frontier and interesting characters. Flasforward had good characters, suspense, and a fascinating exploration of destiny and predeterminism.

Supernatural. I remember the first few episodes started off interesting enough, and it even had a few moments that made me jump (note; I don't scare easily), but then every episode they just ended up fighting ghosts, or curses, or demons (basically ghosts that can possess people), or more ghosts, or ghost cars, or trapped spirits which are somehow different than ghosts because reasons. I think I only ever saw them fight like, 2 corporeal enemies, both of which were way more interesting than all the ghosts. Makes you wonder why they even carried all those guns when most of the things they fight aren't even physical enemies.

I guess I was expecting cool monster hunting, werewolf slayers, and instead got ghostbusters.

Big Bang Theory: Not funny at all, it thinks it gets nerds. Make a show about 4chan then I'll concede you "get" nerds

HOUSE: Stupid show about Sherlock Holmes who is a doctor. I despise protagonists that are assholes and still adored or tolerated by their peers. Piss off.

Dexter: Dumb premise

Falling Skies: Nothing ever happens

Law and Order: Nothing ever happens

All of the 123411 cop dramas: NOTHING EVER HAPPENS

Firefly: Obviously

Sons of Anarchy: Don't care about bikers

If it weren't fro GoT and this upcoming agents of shield show, I wouldn't be watching any shows on TV aside from cartoons.

More properly OT: Gonna keep complaining about this but I got about 6 episodes into Attack on Titan before reading up on the Manga and it becomes retarded so I gave up then.
Also I tried US The Office but I reaaaaaaally hated the early seasons so that's that. Might try again sometime.
Sir, could I trouble you for a moment? Could you briefly explain to me how it gets retarded? I don't mind being spoiled if it saves me some time and I could be watching something better.

Basically...
The show spends a good amount of time building up this sense of vulnerability with humanity fighting against the titan creatures, people are constantly dying, there's a lot of tension, and then at the end of episode 5, the main character pretty much gets killed. A titan bites his leg off, and as a last "blaze of glory" thing he jumps inside a titan's mouth to save one of his friends, the titan then swallows him and walks off like nothing happened.

For a short while it makes it seem like they're planning to stick with this decision, maybe switch up the protagonist or not become completely generic, and it only gets more interesting as a friendly titan show up. Battles still have tension, everything still feels cool, and there's still this nice theme of humanity banding together to defeat the titans even if they have some help.

Then the main character pops out the back of the friendly titan, completely healed, turns out he was one, and any sense of tension or engaging story flies out the window as it becomes a series of "WHOOOOOA MAKING GIANT DUDES FIGHT IS FUCKING COOOOOOL" and "Hey here's a fuckload of plot with nothing engaging whatsoever to keep you interested."

The Walking Dead. It never really gelled with me. Perhaps it gets better after after the first season, but I'll never know.

I usually try to stick it out with tv shows but I did only see season 1 of House. Mostly because it was unbelievably boring.

Also, Firefly. But I don't think that counts.

Game of Thrones, after the end of season one I through my hands up and said that's it im done. Firefly not by choice but because of fucking FOX, last but not least Alcatraz, no ending, never gonna find out what happens, again not by choice.
