Titan quest. Hegemony Gold. Rome: Alexander. Tin Solders: Alexander. Zeus: Master of Olympus.El Dwarfio said:Ancient Greece. There are no good games set in Ancient Greece, but it has such possibility.
Personally I think a Paradox style Grand Strategy were you play as a Greek City State would be absolutely awesome.
I can think of three London games: London Racer (self-explanatory), and Midtown Madness 2 (had a London level). There's also the Getaway; think that's a GTA clone set in London.seagoon said:I don't know if you were into this kind of thing but I REALLY wish Call of Duty would go back to WW2! I think We need more WW1 games, although not neccisarly a FPS , A silent hill kinda horror game could be good in the trenches and no mans land, I mean that place is freaky as shit!

OT. A setting I would REALLY love is London! And not stereotype 'Cor Blimey' London but a real London! Rockstar Studios is set up in London! I'm sure they could make a great English game!
You see I would argue none of are Ancient Greek, although the term is a bit wishy washy. Alexander and Hegemony both occur after the apex of city state culture. As for Zeus, Titan Quest and God of War etc are all just fantasy games with an ancient greek framing.omicron1 said:Titan quest. Hegemony Gold. Rome: Alexander. Tin Solders: Alexander. Few. Not none.
On topic: I second the "prehistoric" votes.
I'd also like to see more done with ancient Egypt, esp. mythological Egypt. Some "ancient Aliens" settings wouldn't go amiss either.
You can control all the characters. At least in P4.Yggdraz0r said:Persona 3 and 4 are some of the more interesting games. Still in a gameplay perspective I find not being able to control the other characters more of a hindrance then it being an immersion breaker if it did.
We need moar Steampunk games! Steampunkify ALL the Games!Grimh said:You can control all the characters. At least in P4.Yggdraz0r said:Persona 3 and 4 are some of the more interesting games. OP: I would like a game with a similar setting to Arcanum, I'm a sucker for steampunk.
Also would be interested in a modern day fantasy. Not ones that are: "Exactly like real life earth except trolls and shit".
But a modern setting evolved from a tolkienesque middle ages. If that makes any sense.
I didn't know that games like Mass Effect and Fallout were Tolkien ripoffs....Arqus_Zed said:Say want you want about JRPGs, at least they know something more then "hey, let's go rip off Tolkien again". Seriously, what is wrong with Western RPGs?
I had a little look at all of those games and the only one that sparked my interest was The Getaway series.. It still has the problem of being too stereotypical and cringe.. I assume that your American (forgive me if not). I'm English and watching the setting of that is like you playing a game set in America, where everyone has a thick Boston accent, is constantly eating burgers, and kill any NPC who's not American. But thanks for the selection of games, anyway5-0 said:I can think of three London games: London Racer (self-explanatory), and Midtown Madness 2 (had a London level). Just looked it up and it has a sequel too: The Getaway: Black Friday.
Nope, I'm bloody English too. That's interesting what you say about The Getaway considering the fact that the developers are, themselves, from London. One would assume things have to be dumbed down for the international market I guess. What video did you watch? I'm interested now.seagoon said:I had a little look at all of those games and the only one that sparked my interest was The Getaway series..
