Sure I am, but people often confuse rights and privileges. All of the inalienable rights my kids were born with are respected. The privileges, on the other hand, are earned. If you dont make contributions you don't get to complain.

Well, as twisted as this is, the child got fooled very quickly. Credits for nude pictures...I'm fairly sure most children at ten would know thats wrong. Don't they teach them to not accept stuff from strangers anymore?

More to the point, what game was he on? How did this sicko find him, Viva pinata?

They can have all the fuckin freedom they want when they're 18, but for now, I'm worse than Big Brother and they have to live with it.
I'm guessing you're not big on youth rights, then.
Rights and privileges are two completely different things. All of the inalienable rights young people are born with, I respect. The privileges on the other hand, are earned. If you don't contribute, you are in no position to complain.

From the way you described your treatment of children one would not be out of line to believe that the only rights you believe they are born with are the ones you give them. Self-determination is apparently a right reserved only for those lucky enough to have not been born in the last 17 years, especially in your household.

I suggest you watch the fantastic "Extra Credits" videos more often. This one in particular my be enlightening for you. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/extra-credits/1961-Free-Speech]

I think what is happening at the moment is a lot of people are still getting used to the digital world. I think most parents have always been aware of the dangers of strangers etc but are not aware of what can happen on the internet.

Another problem I think is that parents don't make the connection between an Xbox and the internet. They are the same but I think most uninformed parents just assume an xbox is for playing games or is a toy etc.
