I know this is hardly the kind of conversation to have at four in the morning, and I probably shouldn't have said anything. I just fear I may have lost my greatest friend forever.

I know we're probably both blowing the whole thing way out of proportion, but what are your views on the subject?
POLITICAL CORRECTNESS!!! The bane of the developed world. The cancer of civilised communities. If I could visualise 'Political Correctness' as a "thing", I would visualise it as a huge, steaming, pile of turd that simply won't flush around the U-bend of a toilet.

It is your sworn duty to save your friend from this horrendous monstrosity that is Political Correctness. Of course i know nothing of the closeness between you and your friend, but from my shortly formed opinion of her, I would say I dislike her greatly. My view on the subject: she is in the wrong and you are in the right. Do not fret and you should wait for her to apologise to you. Then, while you are at it, take a picture of yourself in a group-shot with a person from every single ethnicity and minority that you can. Put on a huge great big smile and look content with life. CHEEEESSSE! Political correctness OWNS the western world.

Yeah...

If you don't like Brunettes, that doesn't make you a hair-colorist. If you don't like outrageously huge fake tits, you're not a fake-titist. I mean, I don't think you would normally be described as any of the above.

My favorite story of friends going to strips clubs was my one friend getting chewed out by a black dancer. She said something like, "I guess your friend doesn't like chocolate!' and stormed off.

I mean, he doesn't. Not that kind of chocolate. And he really isn't racist.

Well racism is defined as discriminating against someone because of their race. Saying that you don't find black girls attractive is therefore racist.
There's a difference, IMO, between the literal, dictionary definition of "rascist" and the word's more politically charged, cultural usage.

Generally, when you call someone rascist, you are usually, de facto, calling them a closed-minded bigot who harbors irrational hatreds.

And I think you can find Asians or Blacks or Whites more or less attractive without being a closed-minded bigot who harbors irrational hatreds.

I can be friends with guys, but I don't find them sexually attractive and would never sleep with one.

I can be friends with black people, but I don't find them sexually attractive and would never sleep with one.

If that makes me racsist, stick a hood on my head and sign me up for the next clan meeting because the world has obviously gone mad.

Well, I dated a really cute black girl so I have no idea. I really have no preference. My friends joke that I have dated every race, so next will be albino. Is albino white?
Technically albino is a lack of pigment, so it's no color at all.

But now I'm genuinely curious about if there are any albino "black" people out there.
Yes there are, youtube African Albino.
People chop their limbs off because they believe albinos have magical powers.

I'm not even kidding.

and OT: No that's not racist. Racism is when you think one race is superior to another.

Racism is actually...

"a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race"

Saying "Im not attracted to black woman" is not racism.

If he said "Black woman are so annoying" or "I hate black woman" that would be racial discrimination.

Well documented (by someone I assume) my affinity for red hair. So happens those ladies are generally of Scottish, Irish or English ancestry. I have no issue with women of other varieties, but cannot help it that red hair is automatic plus for me since adolescence.
You sound like my Bf or my ex bf on the red head thing. Even though he's got a red head with green eyes (me) I still have to watch him at the celtic festival to prevent him from over drooling. (that and the guinness truck where he insists he is the drop cloth).
We mean no harm, you sexy lady. ;)

I don't think it is racism. It is rather difficult to explain, but it is like whether or not you like a certain food or not. To me it is almost that simple with sexual attraction. It is nothing more than a slightly interesting attribute about yourself that should not be taken into to much consideration. It does not make you a racist if you do not find black women sexually attactive.

On one hand, it's not a choice. Your just reacting according to your programming, so you can't call it racism.

On the other hand, it's not unreasonable to think that it is Racism. It's not correct, but it's not a wild, crazy hypothesis. Saying your not attracted to is pretty easy to equate to "I don't think they are attractive". Now if you were just saying that you, personally, don't naturally gravitate towards that kind of attractiveness, based on the uncontrollable aspects of your beauty preferences that you have no say in, then you would say, "I don't think they are attractive". If you were saying that something about the black race is inheritly unattractive, and just genetically not as good as white girls, you would say, "I don't think they are attractive". One sentence can mean either something benign, or something terribly racist. It's all a matter of communication. So yeah, you're not racist, but cut your friend some slack. She's just fighting your ambiguity.

I don't find extremely dark skin attractive, tan mediteranian tones are my sort of thing, but i live in Northern Ireland! So pale white chicks it is!

To answer your question, its not racist. Some men prefer brunettes to blondes, its pretty much the same thing.

Not being attracted to someone because of their race isn't quite racist. But i dont understand it myself. Racism comes in when you say people should stick with their own kind.

But the OP doesn't like black women because he does not feel they are attractive. That is actually saying that black people simply aren't as attractive as other races. That's racial superiority right there man.

He clearly feels that other races have superior looks to the black race.

I'd judge that as racism yeah. And I'd be pissed off if someone said something like that to my face and expected me to just sit there and accept it.

That's retarded.
Because you don't find a person attractive doesn't mean you hate them because of their race.
It's plain retarded. Everybody has a different idea of what's beautiful and if you don't meet then too bad. It's not racist to think one type of person is more attractive than another.

No, they are not equivalent. Not even a bit. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; it doesn't mean you hate a group if you don't feel attracted to them.

He personally doesn't find them attractive. It's not racist at all as sexual preference is a gut feeling (most of the time). If he said that all black women are ugly, then that's racist.
