I don't know about you but this smells like garbage to me.

What i do wonder, if we assume this study has any relevance, what about masturbation? Is it the process of sexual pleasuring or the act of having sex itself? (this would be useful to know to understand which factors would play a role in this "phenomenon", if it's true, which seems unlikely)

Honestly, if you are getting it often enough for this to come into play, then being small clearly isn't slowing you down.

I believe the saying "Doesn't Matter; Had Sex" (DM;HS) comes into play.

This article has more information about the study, and includes statements from the scientists trying to keep the journalists from jumping to conclusions:

http://www.livescience.com/17254-adolescent-sex-brain-development.html

"These results are very preliminary and should be used only to stimulate discussion about the role of early life experiences in humans in a general way," Weil said.

"In no way do these data bear directly on the issue of teenage abstinence," Weil stressed. "Much more research needs to be done in both human and animal models to understand how these types of experiences translate into changes in mood and physiology."
The basic science is that sexually active teen males have more testosterone, and because there brains are still forming, they are more likely to develop "male-typical" brains. Simple and true.

The crazy thing is, Fox news just made up the part about small penises. Read the Fox article, nowhere do they quote the scientist saying anything about penis size. In fact, increased testosterone during development would be correlated with larger penis size.

Masturbation produces less testosterone than sex with another person.

Pretty much this. It just seems like an attempt to discourage teens being sexually active. Even if there is any element of truth to it, it seems silly to abstain from sex in case your penis stays small and you get embarrassed when you eventually do have sex. Experience would compensate for the lack of a small amount of length.

Ha, nope.

Being sexually active young is a risk factor for many other bad things though. And number of sexual partners just increases that risk.

I'd be quite interested to know what drugs the person who accepted the grant proposal for this research was using though.

Actually the main point of the study wasn't the size of dicks but the psychological effects. It's just that Fox thought it would be more "sensational" to focus on the dick size.

Honestly, I don't understand what a lot of guys find so great about being sexually active or having a huge penis. I for one wouldn't want a large penis anywhere near me. That just screams pain and do not want. I can understand how people might act like this in revenge of the standards for women to have large breasts. But for guys it seems like a "I'm more masculine than you therefor I deserve to be more socially dominant than you" thing which is stupid.

I don't think -anyone- shouldn't be expected to have "big stuff" and it doesn't make them better human beings. By the way, I find it funny how people ignorantly claim that larger breasts are better at breastfeeding when there's many in the field of evolutionary biology that think larger breasts is an evolutionary flaw, and that a completely flat chested AA cup can feed more people than a DD cup, because over %90 of mass of the breasts is determined by fat content. And that a large penis has an evolutionary advantage and will be favored by natural selection because it will be better at inserting an seed into an egg and that men with a small penis will have difficulty impregnating a woman. And yet people make racist stereotypes that Asian women have small breasts and Asian men have small penises to the point of borderline not even having secondary sexual characteristics at all. China being a country with over a billion people.

Hilarious, that.

That thread title sounds like a mnemonic for something. Probably something to do with the sentence structure.

A really lame attempt at that.

Not to boast or anything but I can say for a fact that they're full of shit.

And even if I didn't know from experience, this is Fox news we're talking about.

Doesnt fox news generally promote conservative values? Ie abstinance. Smells as bad as my old flat this story.

If you have sex your penis will be small but if you don't have sex you probably don't use your penis for much besides urinating (where I'm fairly certain size is completely irrelevant) so this is sort of a pointless arguement to make even if it was true.

Most women aren't overtly concerned with the length (what most people actually mean when they say size) of a man's genetallia so much as the girth of it (the variable that actually would be significant to a woman's enjoyment).

I don't encourage sexually overactive teenagers (there are risks involved) but by the same token this claim just sounds stupid and like an attempt to encourage abstinance only (you know, that contraceptive method that pretty much just consists of pinky promising not to have sex ever).

Sadly, I saw "foxnews" in the URL, and immediately dismissed it as unreliable.

Never forgiving that Mass Effect thing.

"Fox News"

Notice how Novembers 8.6% is higher than 8.8%?

Just takes a little "push" to make statistics say something different.

Just came across this. Fox news proves once again that Hamsters have horrible sex lives.
