Did anyone else ever play 'Shadow of Memories' on the PS2?

The basic premise was that your character, Eike, died at the start of the game (in a cutscene) and then you were given the chance to go back and prevent your own death. You could travel through time to the same town up to 500 years ago, and the detail was brilliant.

I loved that game with a passion (and OK, I don't want to reinforce the stereotypes about female gamers, but I really wanted Margarete's dress). I was hooked for hours on end.

It challenged your brain, actions had consequences, and you could get any one of five different endings...

Or so went the theory. My brother and I tried everything we could possibly think of and only ever managed to unlock two of them. Did anyone ever actually manage to unlock all five endings?

Great game. Shows it's age now with the control scheme these days but a true one off.
I heard they were making a new one, or perhaps porting SoM, to the PSP.

I remember this game! It was the first game I got for my Xbox. I only unlocked 3 endings though.

It was a very interesting game and In a way Did Indigo Prophecy/Heavy Rain first but without being plauged with QTE's.
It's quite dated now but It was a very interesting game at the time, it also had an excellent bonus section once you'd got all the endings, it played with the time mechanic quite cleverly at times and it's a shame nobodies tried to expand on some of it's ideas.

Yeah, I've played it, quite enjoyable too. Reminded me somewhat of Shenmue at the time, where you spent more time running around finding information to help you. Wish more games were like it personally, refreshing change from hack n slashers and fps'.

I remember playing a demo of it on the PS2 back in the day, my friend owned it but sold it before I had the opportunity to borrow it. Never bought it for the PS2 but eventually got it for the PSP, which is a reasonably good transition and works very well.

Since my brother now has sole ownership of my PS2 (not my idea I assure you) I think I might have to get the PC version, if only for nostalgia's sake.

what stereotype are you referring to?
The one where female gamers will play anything on the basis of how nice the scenery and/or costumes look, regardless of how good every other aspect of the game is.

Yeah, i played it and didn't think that much of it. I got if for my mum a good few years ago when i used to live with her and we bashed through it together. She enjoyed it a lot but it didn't float my boat but it could have been that i was an immature wee whipper snapper at the time!
