It looks good, but what kind of game are we looking at? They mention a hub zone so it doesn't sound like a liner shooter. We also see loot at one point too? Also what platforms are they looking at?

Holy smokes that looks boring. I know this isn't my cup of tea so I can only fault it so much as I am not the target audience here BUT...

Like....3 minutes or so in, the dude mentioned 4 player co-op...

I've always thought these types of games were SUPER boring as it's basically running around just murdering everything with minimal worries about those pesky tactics or story or anything that I am interested in but the hectic gameplay of the "Painkiller" or "Serious Sam" might be a lot more interesting if I get to play with a few friends. Maybe...no promises.

Although hell, this is even assuming it's coming out for consoles. I never really bothered to look into it except to say how I don't like these games because it's fun to toy with B-Cell's emotions that way.

Sheesh, even 9 minutes of that looked bloody repetitive. Strangely enough, it's a little more tolerable when Lo Wang's cringe worthy quips are drowned out by other noise. Odd, because I adore the likes of Serious Sam, Painkiller, Unreal Tournament and such...

Overall: Ehh, I'm not feeling it -- enemies seem like either fodder or bullet sponge with little middle-ground. I'm more interested in tense engagements with enemies that make you rethink your tactics. I'm less enthused about a prettier version of a more reactionary "COD-with-demons" instead of soldiers.

Watching some of the gameplay... It looks... Really easy.

I'm worried. The enemies are just, like, standing around. Maybe attacking slowly... Maybe switching it to Hard mode will fix it?

Serious Sam TFE/TSE/HD/BFE can all be played with 8 player co-op. And yes, it's quite awesome.

Either the game is boring as hell, or it's completely ruined by the commentary and what I presume is a God Mode cheat.

For a mobility shooter/slasher, everything seems to have a crap ton of health. The numbers seem out of place, and is it just me, or do the swords seems underwhelming?

I dunno. I guess, honestly, I'm not seeing anything to really damn it. But I'm not seeing anything worth 60 bucks either.

Looks like it could be fun for a little bit. But it looks like it will get really repetitive in the long run, and I can only imagine how disorienting it will be with the camera flailing wildly like that. Unless they do something to drastically shake things up throughout the game, it looks like it will be a decent game for about 3-5 hours. But since it looks like they're designing it to last for much longer, I'm not sure it will be anywhere near the asking price on release. Maybe it will be worth it in a few years when the price drops and it goes on sale for like $5.

Hopefully this will be good, and sell well. Ever since 3d realms sold Duke Nukem to Gearbox and Prey to Bethesda, Shadow Warrior is the only title that has any chance of digging 3d Realms out of the financial hole it is now.

Shadow Warrior is now developed by Flying Wild Hog and published by Devolver Digital. 3D Realms has nothing to do with the license anymore.

You haven't even played it I'm sure. Actually do that first before we starting singing praises bout a game that isn't even in your hands. Lest we forget bout Colonial Marines (Despite you feeling that game was bullshit the moment it was shown off, yet this seems like no exception with how everyone else feels)

Story time with Elvis Starburst again! Yaaayyyyy!

This is why pre-order culture exists. I fell for it myself too. Star Fox Zero? Yeah, no longer pre-ordered once I saw the reviews (Yet I rented it to be safe, and it's so much fun). I faltered my stance cause it was Nintendo and Platinum, a match I didn't expect to be crapped on so much in the end. It looked amazing, I fell for how good it looks, and how fun the gameplay was. I thought the controls sounded cool.

Are they? Fuck yes, they're great fun once you get a handle on it (But not everyone can, that's fair). I did the exact same thing you did, and I risked being bitten by the pre-order hype train like a dumbass cause I thought Nintendo and Platinum together couldn't do much wrong. And to others, they could. To me, they didn't but it was a risk I almost took.

My point? Don't buy into hype like that, you'll risk disliking the game entirely if something isn't as you like. I guarantee I might've been upset had I not read the reviews and bought the game completely (But I would've liked it eventually, as I have). Just be careful, ok? I had a close call, don't let the trailers and hype wind you up like it did for me and risk hating things worse if the game isn't as you expect.

Pre-emptive: And no slamming me on liking Star Fox Zero just cause of what the reviews say. I'm liking the game a lot, leave it at that. I'm not interested in hearing that it's not a "hardcore FPS so it sucks because of it"

I think you need to look up the definition of "friends." Also, which Doom? And finally, "come on," as in, come on to what? That we can't just see how excellent the game is? There's the real possibility that we don't find ourselves impressed with Shadow Warrior, in that the writing is juvenile (dick jokes!), the setting doesn't grab us, the gameplay doesn't grab us, and the entire endeavor looks like a throwback to the 90s which was a period of time that, while great in many ways, is also cringeworthy in others. And I'll go one further than saying it's a possibility, because that's my thoughts on the game in a nutshell.

Like the game by all means, but measuring a product's quality by video before it's come out is hardly objective.

I'll slowly raise my hand, and state that I saw Colonial Marines was going to fall short of original promises before it originally released, played it anyway, and actually enjoyed it.

I'll now slowly lower my hand before I'm acquired by the M60 smart gun's targeting system. :)

I think B-cell is far more likely to rag on you for buying a console game than anything else. :(

Very excited for this game as well.
I love the fact the game now is like a sandbox and you are free to move whatever you like.
The different enemies types I saw are unique and have some special "tricks" to make the gameplay more challenging, like the baby demons which if you leave them alive for long time they will transform into Giants! Or the Snake Demons can duplicate [not seeing in this video, in an old one is in action].
And I am one of the people I LOVE to use the Sword in the first game.

I hope to be a good game.

I don't know if we are looking at the same game, but whilst the game looks okay, the melee combat looks just AWFUL. I mean, everything just seems so slow, clunky and disorienting, like, the character is just waving his sword around; it just doesn't look satisfying.

Besides, in one of your comments you mention "this game even made Doom pale in comparison", but this game doesn't even look anything like Doom anymore (not that the new Doom is even worth comparing to, anyway). I mean, open-ish world, a possibility of loot, what looks like could be a shop, etc. This look like more of a Borderlands competitor than a Doom one, regardless of the series' roots or history.

My friend, Reboot of shadow warrior is best FPS in years despite it has flaws like too linear and can be repetetive. this game is major step forward. they are making non linear level design kinda like Crysis with fast paced old school gameplay. it will have 70 different weapons too with different meelee weapons.

Flying wild hog are best FPS developer atm and know how to make a good FPS. unlike everyone trying to be COD.

You still haven't answered which Doom you're comparing it to. Nor does any of that solve my problems with the game's writing, setting, and protagonist.

Also, who's actually trying to be CoD nowadays? Right now there's two trends in the FPS - open-world with occassional MMO elements (Destiny, The Division, Homefront) and class-based hero shooters (Overwatch, Battleborn, Paladins, Paragon). Even CoD itself is doing interesting things with its settings in recent installments. Funnily enough, one of the games that distinctly IS copying CoD is Doom in regards to its loadout system.
