Have just finished playing bioshock, still maintain it's better than it's sequal. share some of your memorable bioshock/bioshock2 moments. for me, my top 3 biosock moments in ascending order would be, fontaine boss fight, fort frolic level, and the monologue at the begining of game.

Bioshock 2, that's harder. umm my 2 favourite levels are fontaine futuritics and dionisus park

The moment you first stepped into Arcadia. I mean already the wonder and splendour of the city had my attention but the second I stepped into a beautifully imagined public forest under the sea... I was entranced.
Come to think of it, pretty much my best experiances of the game were just wandering around the sunken treasure that was Rapture.
To be fair, it wasn't all beautiful and the perfect example of non beauty was the Doctor Steinman incident.

So yeah, Arcadia for the best and Steinman for the worst. Both were amazing experiances one high and one down below.

Every single bit involving Sander Cohen. And in the second, most of the lines by Gil Alexander. (I think that's his name.)

As do I. Bioshock 2 felt, as I remember one of our other Escapists putting it, like "Fanfiction: The Game" A shallow story that only served as an excuse to go back to Rapture.

OP: Fort Frolic is my all-time favorite level, as are Dionysus Park and Pauper's Drop (Bio 2 had good level design).

Also:

-The opening (Oh GOD the opening).
-Steinman's little rant.
-Everything Ryan says ever.
-Everything Cohen says ever.
-The "Twist".

All great parts. :)

Nothing really stands out to me as "Fantastic" (apart from the game as a whole), but holy shit is the Rivet Gun overpowered.

Also:

WTF, how could you hate the game at all. it is amazing.
I just stated why, not everyone has to love the game.
Even I agree that the gameplay is shit, but that's not why I like it.
I never really felt the need to push on, I really wanted to know how he would escape rapture, and all I got was this 30 second clip of me either growing up with the little sisters or watch them go ape shit on some sailors.

I honestly think if they had tweaked the combat a bit more and made a it a little bit longer it would be a truly perfect game, but there's my inner fanboy showing again. :p

I had a sort of 'unique' encounter in Bio 1, i was in a maintenance room, it had stairs leading down to another room and a neutral big daddy patrolling the area. I went down the stairs, knocked over a bin which very very slowly rolled downstairs. I then went back up, inspected a closet when i heard rapid heavy footsteps, i thought it was a splicer who roused the big daddy. I turned around to watch and saw the big daddy, red faced, turn the corner and drill my face in.

Something strange happened to me too. I hypnotized a Big Daddy in Haphaestus (Sp?) and started a fight with another daddy, for some reason they both turned on me and I somehow managed to kill them both. I felt like such a badass. :p

I felt like a pussy in the medical pavillion, because I missed out on the shotgun+ splicers running out of the shadows. then just picked a shotgun up in neptune's bounty. kinda bypassed the experience

My first experience was with the demo for the first. I was entranced, immersed, and scared shitless.

I still haven't beaten the game though. Once I got over the being scared, I really had no reason to play anymore.

It was such a letdown for me.

My best Bioshock 2 moment:
I was in some level where you first encounter Alpha daddys (or whatever they were called). I was standing in a balcony and Alpha came from below. First I turned it into ice cube, while it was melting I changed into shotgun and shot Alpha with burning shot.
The second the ice melted the Alpha bursted into flames and started screaming. I (again) changed my weapon and took out harpoon cannon with missile shot. When Alpha stopped burning I quickly shot two missiles into its chest, watching that Alpha stumble backwards and finally exploding.

That was awesome moment in awesome game.
