Hearing all this shit really makes me want to start a petition to ban Duke Nukem Forever on the grounds that it's sexist to men. Duke being portrayed as a generically handsome and muscular blond guy is blatant sexism towards men and portrays an unrealistic image of what it means to be masculine. Think of all the men who develop self esteem issues...

[/sarcasm]

People really just need get a sense of humor. DNF is juvenile, violent, misogynistic, crass, crude, and inappropriate...

...and it's meant to be a joke. Deal with it. If anything, it's hardcore "feminists" (read: media whores) like Knox that are doing more damage to actual feminism. Besides, if she's concerned that games are portraying women as objects then obviously she's never seen a mainstream rap/hip hop music video in the past decade.

I like how people judge something before they even know what it really is.

Play the game, then start a complaining whine fest for all I care.

It won't stop Duke from arriving at my doorstep, so waste your time and money all you want Shelby NobodyKnox.

I'm going to buy this game.. I probably won't like it... But with all the hype and waiting over a decade.. This game is one game that I HAVE to buy.. So if Walmart doesn't sell it.. Well.. I'm going to have to take my business elsewhere..

I'd like for everyone that is trying to get Nukem banned, burned, or prosecuted needs a reality check to what they are accomplishing. You complaining is for some reason big news, and big news is what Nukem wants. I'm gonna definitely buy it because goddamn that seems fucking hilarious and new. Hell the game is probably going to be mostly gimmicks but funny gimmicks that warrant at least one play through and of course months of condemnation on any internet forum for not actually making a good game.

Oh and I will not be slapping women in the near future.

How cute.

Perhaps at some point, there can be an extra multiplayer mode added in which two teams must fight towards the middle of the map, capture Shelby Knox, and plant her in the enemy base. She'll flood their comm systems with her rhetoric, and as such, a team can only survive for one minute if she's in their base.

It could be called "***** Quest."
Here, have an Internet.

equality isn't created by tipping the scales drastically in the other direction. i'm tired of these feminazis pushing so hard in the other direction.

you're not helping, you're only encouraging

If Duke was gay and they were carrying around men slapping them on the arse no one would give a shit....

Wheres the gender equality in that?
Actually, I think they'd start complaining about homosexual publicity and how it's a sin.

Shit, where shall I ever buy this game if it's not at WALMART?!

If only we lived in the future, a time when some sort of online store existed where you could enter your name, address, and credit card number to purchase some item, like a console game, and have it delivered straight to your doorstep in a few days time.

Better yet, if only Valve would create some sort of online store where you could purchase ONLY games, but you didn't need to have a physical copy. They could provide all the data you needed to download, install, and play the game and cut out nasty things, like games cluttering up your desk or lengthy shipping times.

Man, I can't wait for the future...

Seriously, guys, whatever shall we do without WALMART?!
stop saying things like that... or Walmart will buy Steam... and then we're all doomed.

Gearbox should TOTALLY make a video of Duke calling this lady out about how this is the equalvent of one of those paradoy movies, and how anyone who takes the gamer seriously is a fool.

Duke is the almighty troll god, and he's a fictional character.
This is hilarious. Part of Duke Nukem's hilarity is the morons who get offended by it and freak out all the time.

"To be clear, Duke Nukem Forever makes a game out of physical and sexual violence against women. And Randy Pitchford -- CEO of Gearbox Software which is in charge of the game's release -- thinks that's simply hilarious,"

Add me to the list of people who thought it was fairly meh, but now it's set off a feminist, 'thinks it's hilarious'.

It's quite obviously ironic sexism, and she shouldn't worry her pretty little head about it, we can't expect her to understand it, and I'm sure her husband's wondering where his dinner is.

Don't cut this out, just add a mode where you play a feminist (and make it the most stereotypical, butch, fuzzy armpits, cigar smoking dungaree wearing feminist possible) and don't save the Duke Nukems because, as they own testicles, they're not worth the effort of saving.

In short, equality good, humour that pushes PC boundaries good, crazy feminists mad n bad.
It's a big dumb stereotype in a big dumb game, and we know we're not supposed to slap women, or men.

Someone oughta show her clips of Postal 2 where you can decapitate a women with a shovel, piss on the still gushing stump, then set the head on fire and kick it down the road. There again, you can do that to the men too, so in a way that's less offensive, right?

I had not heard about this. Ironically, it's making me want to play it a mild amount more than I had before.

Nothing kills a boner like feminism

Also, she makes it sound like the game as based around beating women
LOL.

I don't think they realize that it's a parody of male chauvinism. If they did, they might realize that complaining about it as though it was serious is just making them look irrational and stupid. So really, they're the one's who are promoting sexist stereotypes.

Dear god, I love rhetoric.

maybe we should start a petition to ban all fps's from WalMart because you can only kill men for the vast majority and that's sexist.
