no apperntly cant they cant see that this will hurt walmart and drive DNF sales through the floor, but im digging the april fools day spirit. Keep on keeping on dude.

I'm afraid it isn't an April fools joke. They're just that stupid. It's like the bleeding hearts thinking that ranting about white privilege is going to come off as anything but grasping at straws and totally isn't going to put people off of their cause.

They want Duke Nukem out of walmart? Easy, let the customers do it and offer the game with a discount. It will fly!

Ok, here's the thing... This is Shelby Knox:

...Why is it that these aggressive feminists are always uglier than sin...? Am I the only one noticing this or are any of these "jump on everything no matter how stupid" feminists that are actually non-visually scarring?

Please don't go there.
We're dangerously close to Rush Limbaugh territory [http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200508160001].
And we don't want that, do we?

I love it when people like this say absolutely nothing to stand on. The lady needs to learn that she is under absolutely no obligation to buy this product or even give it any attention, as both of those, whether they are positive or negative, will only turn into positive sales for the product, and negative publicity for her.

Obvious feminist troll is just an obvious troll.

Truth be told, she actually is fair looking. It is the attitude she harbors inside that makes her worse to behold. Especially as it eats at her soul over time, which will begin to show in her physical features.
Short of botox intervention. Maybe a slap on her ass might actually change all that. Or at least a pinch.

Someone has been playing too much Mass Effect 2...

OT: It doesn't matter if you agree with her or not, we must hold dear what's left of Freedom of Speech.

Well unless Walmart was planning to sell the game to feminists it would be in their best interests to don't do this, I don't want a game with less content just becuase of feminists. I live in Finland so I don't really care what Walmart do, but the bad thing would be if they actually removed that mode, because then I too suffer the wrath of these jolly feminists that are the reason for modern sexism in the first place!

I love how Pritchford seems thoroughly oblivious to the fact that "a love slap on the booty" is if anything more condescending.
This is a game which should never have seen the light of day. If its development gestation of nearly 15 years is proof of anything, that is it.

Don't get me wrong, I think Duke Nukem has always been a neanderthal exercise in the most base and worthless qualities of this medium, but I won't deny it the right to be base and worthless.
I'm curious. Don't you think that the game is equally sexist toward men as women, seeing as it paints the "ideal man" as a musclebound, knuckle-dragging, neanderthal meathead with rippling biceps, a tendancy to womanize, consume copious amounts of alcohol, and treat women like crap?

I'm being 110% serious here.

I want Wal-mart to carry Duke Nukem forever. As a consumer, I have a right to buy whatever product I wish so long as it is legal. Not to mention that this game has everyone's eyes on it. Wal-mart would be stupid to listen to such a small vocal minority.

I think Duke Nukem Forever is an equal-opportunities stupid concept, absolutely.
But to be honest, I don't see the alleged satire involved in this project. Whatever there might have been in previous incarnations, this time around it would seem they are simply aiming to deliberately offend specific ideas and movements (e.g feminism) rather than satirise the absurdity and hyperbole of its own content to some cathartic effect.
I don't trust the developers to have the level of insight to see that difference. At least not when judging by how Pitchford has approached the issue in official statements.

I never saw Duke as satire, but then again I was 14 and already aware of the Evil Dead films it was ape-ing. I always thought pressing the "use" button when approaching a stripper to make it rain was an attempt to lend to the game a grindhouse camp element and get young boys who'd recently hit puberty an endorphin surge.

It's a first amendment issue so if they someone wanted to make a game called "Rapelay" they have every right (wait...). Why not just slap an M rating on it, ask parents to do their jobs, and call it done?

I've never heard of Shelby Knox but if she's of the variety of feminist who wants to ban this game from stores instead of simply calling it out for overt chauvinism, then her claims are almost certainly exaggerated.
