Not really. Whenever I buy soda I end up drinking 3 to 4 a day, though I never feel like shit afterwards. I still got a strong metabolism kicking, so I think that helps with most of it, though I did stop drinking it at nights before I go to bed.

My family is the weird kind of people who buy 32 packs of bottled water, and we have bottles everywhere around the house where you just randomly pick one up and down it if you ever get thirsty.

I'm surprised at the lack of love for water here >.>, where is the love for the origin? I've even stopped drinking orange juice on a regular basis now for some reason.

I only ever drink soft drink (soda, pop, whatever you wanna call it) when it's mixed with alcohol. Same goes with juice. Only tend to drink it with alcohol.
Rest of the time I drink water, straight from the tap. I'm very well hydrated.

I am strongly addicted to caffeine and fizzy drinks. I love them both dearly, though lately I've been getting them through separate delivery methods more often. I like it better this way. Flavored mineral waters and the occasional coffee, with soda reserved for when I'm hanging out with friends or at a restaurant. I live in a fairly cool, humid area, so I've never felt the need to drink much water, but when it is hot and dry enough I am wise enough to avoid dehydration at all costs.

*meh* I drink plain up water in copious amounts during the day anyway, so... *shrug*

And I find that boiled filtered water (yes, both) that's chilled is a very refreshing drink, especially when you've had coffee made from Brighton's scummy water. *blech*
You know Ive seen people do this and it blows my mind. If your going to drink filtered water, why on earth are you making coffee with tap water?(Jello, just about any cooking element.) If it was gross enough that you cant drink it on its own, then perhaps you shouldnt be using it as a base for something else.

As for reduction of sugar, yes, being diabetic, I have to make such a switch and I drink copious amounts of fluid daily. Water if you can get on it predominantly is the best thing for you. For one it will invariably do more to quench thirst than all the soda in the world considering its high sodium (salt) content. So yes, even though soda is cheap, water is still cheaper (not always a lot cheaper, but still cheaper) So it saves more, it will also cause you to drink less, thus saving you even more. Plus, provided it is good, clean, and purified its literally about the most natural thing you can put into your body.

Not really for health reasons, but I am trying to cut down on my soda intake. I really can't afford to be drinking soda as much as I have been, so I am trying to keep it 4 liters per week. I want to try and reduce it even more, but I can't just go cold turkey, damnit!

I drink about a 700 ml of water during the night (A gatorade bottle). And sometimes grab a drink of water out of those Brita filter things at a fridge stop (I don't touch my lips when i do stuff like that. Unlike the rest of my family). I've been drinking more pop lately about a can a day or so, diet, but not that it's much better. I used to drink WAY more afew years back, but cut right off till about last year.

I should lower the amount of sugar in my diet, if I drink soft drink, I tend to choose Pepsi Max over anything else, but when it comes to energy drink, it's my biggest vice. I don't drink much alcohol and I eat quite healthily, but I still drink too much energy drink.

I drank soda almost like it was a meal for a year or two, didn't get good exercise, and I got a kidney stone.

Never again have I let myself drink dark syrup water regularly...

Kidney Stones HURT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (some say it's the only comparison to being a woman giving birth.... I doubt it's close to being as bad tho...)

Bottled (Cold) water has been a great friend to me ever since. I have no idea how it could be cruel to you.
This is pretty much my reason for making sure I start the day with a bottle of water before I eat or drink anything else. I haven't completely cut soda out of my life but I've cut way the hell back. There was a time when a 2 liter a day was no problem for me and then I passed a kidney stone.

I ended up having to piss another one of those bastards out a few weeks ago but was able to lessen the pain of it by drinking a mixture of 1 cup of lemon juice and 1 cup of water and then followed up with some cranberry juice for a few days to keep away infection. Highly acidic urine can dissolve calcium based stones and I didn't feel a thing except relief when it passed. Since then I force myself to drink a bottle of water first thing when I wake up.

I recently heard in a news article that it takes about a month for a habit to take root so only a few more days left to see if it's true.

Water? Never touch the stuff. Fish fuck in it! ;)

Actually I drink water at restaurants, at home I drink diet sodas and sometimes tea. I hate the aftertaste of regular soda.
Thank you Mr. Fields...

Have you ever seen a Commie drink a glass of water?
Well, I can't say I have, Jack.
Vodka, that's what they drink, isn't it? Never water?
Well, I-I believe that's what they drink, Jack, yes.
On no account will a Commie ever drink water, and not without good reason.
Oh, eh, yes. I, uhm, can't quite see what you're getting at, Jack.
Water, that's what I'm getting at, water. Mandrake, water is the source of all life. Seven-tenths of this Earth's surface is water. Why, do you realize that 70 percent of you is water?
Good Lord!

I myself have had the stones, twice. I tell you after the second one you make some changes. I still drink a lot of coffee, but I also drink a hell of a lot of water.

I keep a drink bottle on hand at all times(i fill it using a filtered tap at home, or whatevers on hand out and about). I still drink a fair amount of soft drink, but of the "no sugar, max taste" variety, and intermixed with water from my drink bottle.

I myself drink a lot of (brewed)tea with a fair bit of diet soda and water.

However, I try to avoid sodas with strong amounts of citric acid. I avoid sodas with phosphoric acid entirely.

Did you folks know that phosphoric acids is also used by dentists? They use it for dissolving enamel during certain dental procedures.
