Hey guys. After having another crash after drowning myself in a bit of soda the other night I've formally decided to keep pop restricted to the movies and really, really hot days. Cold water has never treated me so cruelly.

Anyone else actively trying to lower their sugar intake for personal or health reasons?

Plus the money I'll save should be going towards something else...

That's the thread.

*meh* I drink plain up water in copious amounts during the day anyway, so... *shrug*

And I find that boiled filtered water (yes, both) that's chilled is a very refreshing drink, especially when you've had coffee made from Brighton's scummy water. *blech*

What do you mean by "having another crash"?

OT: I'm not trying to change my diet though.

I had to really cut down on cola when I got my weird stomach illness. I drink mostly orange juice now, 'cause I can't stand water on it's own. >.<

I do sometimes have cola now though, just not in the amounts I had it in before.

I tend to drink diet soda, only getting the full blooded stuff if I'm at a restaurant or otherwise out of the house. Then again, I also drink plenty of water, tending to keep the sodas confined to meals...

I've been trying to cut back on soda myself, but not because of sugar. Partly to not become dependent on the caffeine and partly because it is just awful for your teeth.

Edit: I find water is plenty tasty as is (maybe not unfiltered tap) but sometimes you just need something sweet and fizzy.

I tend to drink two litres of water a day, either normal tap water or some flavoured water. I found when I drank alot of fizzy drinks I would occasionally get heart palpetations, while nothing serious it made be feel uncomfortable.

Let me hazard a guess... six or seven?! =P

And I think that's taking 'crash' a little too literally... -_-

I tend to drink water over other drinks anyway. I have a pint of it next to me right now.

Last year I did totally just give up fizzy drinks for the hell of it and lasted a few months before I realised that it can be quite hard to avoid them epecially in takeaways and restaurants. Now I just have a can or so a week,

I stopped drinking soda in middle school. Now I drink water and tea, mostly. I've found it rather easy to quit; the same goes for fast food.

Water? Never touch the stuff. Fish fuck in it! ;)

Actually I drink water at restaurants, at home I drink diet sodas and sometimes tea. I hate the aftertaste of regular soda.

Drink a lot of pop. Have energy for half an hour and then the next two hours I feel exhausted.
How much pop are we talking here?
I was sharing with my sister but I ended up drinking about 80% of a 2 liter bottle alone seeing as she hardly has any.

Wait Canadians use pop to mean soda? I thought only us Brits did that?

OT: I try but it usually goes tits up and I 'relapse'.

I switched over to drinking only water a couple weeks ago. Great stuff I must say.

Okay.
I don't get how that would have such an effect, but sure. Different effects for different folks I guess.

I'm trying to drink less soda, and drink more hot tea. I just had my first cup of it a few weeks ago, with a mug of green tea, and was immediately hooked.

Actually, I think I'm gonna go make some right now!
