Rin didn't need to be told twice as she quickly turned and ran with the others. She wasn't sure if they could outrun them all, but she didn't want to risk looking back to see how close they were.

Once Kojiro gave the go ahead, Shiori got going. She quickly followed after her teammates, not looking back to confirm her counting. All she knew at this point in time was there were enough to result in a hasty retreat.

"Keep running! Head for the portal!"

Kojiro stopped to cast Zio at the closest monster before picking up his pace again. Damn these little shadows weren't letting up. At this rate they'd have to stay and fight just to run.

Shiori looked back as she was running to see Kojiro standing put trying to hold off the monsters. 'Come on Kojiro, don't try to be a hero, just book it!' But he held his ground, firing off a charge at the lead runner. 'Damn it. I can't let him take them on by himself.'

Doing a quick 180, she turned around and cast Mazio, electricity flying towards all the shadows. "Ishikawa, let's go, while they're stunned! Come on!"

Yamada stared at the desk, feeling a cold wave of nervousness wash over him at the sign alone. This entire area was far more difficult than the other ones, this one seeming somehow more real to him. He certainly wasn't ready to see anything else down here with Seiya's face. Just fighting her warped persona the once and seeing her in that backwards staircase had been more than enough for him, but as per usual he wasn't about to turn back now.

"We're just going to have to face it another time if we don't do it now...we should go further in."

"Are you serious, Yamada-san? I get that you're a bit of a fighter, but..." Kumiko pointed at the writing on the walls and then at the desk. "If this sort of thing is what we're going to be up against, I'd rather leave and come back when we actually have the strength for it." If they happened to encounter anything that was remotely like their fight against 'Seiya', they wouldn't have as much of a chance at this rate. And Yamada had been spacing out today. No part of his plan sounded good to her ears at that moment. "Can we please go, Eber?"

As soona s they were stunned Kojiro turned and ran to catch up with the senior, "Thanks Hasegawa-senpai!" He smirked at her, "It would have taken me forever to stun them alone...Please lets continue to get the hell out of here!"

Kojiro ran with Hasegawa on the heals of Rin and Isoroku until they were back to the portal. He looked back to see the little shadow swarm had finally either stopped or fallen far enough behind to give them a break.

When they reached the portal, Shiori finally answered back at Kojiro. "Well, I figured it couldn't hurt to speed up the process. I didn't think I'd actually hit all of them at once. I gotta remember that one. That's going to be useful."

She took a moment to catch her breath as the vortex loomed in front of them. She thought she could still see the Shadows in the distance, but it might have been a trick of the factory lights. There still had a fairly wide space between where she thought she saw them, but this was not the time to be guessing on distances.

"All right, are we going? Cause I'm going now." With that, Shiori dashed through the portal, totally ignoring the rope. At this point, she wasn't too preoccupied with how she got through, she just knew she wasn't saying in the same area as those things that she recently zapped.

Fridmund/Yamada/Mizushima:

Eber's gaze lingered on the hall. He felt like he'd seen something... private, something he wasn't permitted to see. He felt both guilty and exhilarated.

"Do you not wish to see what is beyond...?"

It seemed as though the harder he looked at the place, the more the edges started to fray in his vision. No. They had not the vitality to continue--or the support. If his guess was correct, Hikaru did not know this was ahead.

For that matter, she had not been in touch with them at all.

"...We will leave it be. Come. It is nearly time to rendezvous.

Ishikawa/Yoshida/Junsui/Hasegawa:

"Hoooookay--"

Isoroku wasted no time in even the strictest meaning of the word: he was there at the portal and practically throwing the others through in his rush to get to the other side.

"But hold on, if they're Shadows, can't they just follow us?!"

On second thought, he wasn't sure if he cared to find out. They could just run.

Kojiro frowned. "Just jump through! They're far behind us now...we've got the lead! Come on Rin!" Kojiro waited for her and Isoroku to push through before following them to the other side.

Kumiko was glad to hear it. "No, not really. At least not yet...This place gives me the creeps..." Nothing about today's exploration sat well with her. Not the rooms, the Shadows, or the actions or lack there of of her partners. All of this weighed on her mind and she did not feel her normal confidence.

'Backing off for now is the best thing we can do. And ask Seiya about this...this room...'

"Come on, let's go guys..."

Rin rushed quickly through the portal after Isoroku. She worried Isoroku might be right, but they'd just have to hope they couldn't follow them back to the other side.

As the two parties both hurried back towards the rendezvous point (one rushing quite more than the other), Hikaru's door was open but she was not standing in front of it and monitoring the scene as usual. Still, it was open, and Isoroku ran for it regardless, bursting back into the Normal Human World and into the alley with a gasping breath. The Secretary was there--she spun around to look at him in shock. "Yoshida-san...?"

Eber hurried toward the other team when he saw him in distress, "What has happened?!"

Shiori was through the door right after Isoroku. Pleased to see that they had made it back to the base, as far away from the shadows that she had probably pissed off as they could, her face made no secret of the fact that she was glad to be back out amongst the regular world.

"Seiya-san," she started. "Soda Kid, that was a mess down there. I have to buy a new jacket, it was that bad. That factory, had a thing, it was like a moving blob. It tried to swallow us, but we beat it, Junsui-san enabled us to beat it, but it ate my jacket, and...and.....that was a rough initiation." She propped the bat on the ground and rested upon it. "I...I definitely wasn't expecting that."

Kumiko followed closely behind Eber on their way out. She started to think about how to mentally prepare herself for anything that could happen in a 'hospital wing'. Too many times had she seen horror stories like Project Zero for her to not worry over something like that. Not forgetting all of the heavy superstitions that always came with Japanese hospitals. She shuddered and shrugged them off. Or at least redirected her concern to the group of friends running in their direction.

It was certainly impressive that Shiori was able to handle (from the sounds of it) something so big. But then again, their 'initiation' of sorts was much the same. All of them were just thrust into the situation. Kumiko was glad to see everyone make it out. "You're all okay, right?"

Kojiro waited for Yamada to clear out before he closed the door and leaned against it. "Holy crap! Seiya that factory...Some sort of giant acidic blob shadow! I'm gonna need a new uniform..." He leaned off the door and looked around, "But, huh, Seiya-senpai...why are you out here? has something happened while we were in the tunnels?"

Hikaru's fingertips touched her lips in an expression of her shock, "Moving blob? Acid...? You fought a Shadow? Are you certain?" She seemed upset by the information, pacing back and forth between both walls of the narrow alley, "No, I'm sorry, I just needed some fresh air, and... stepped outside... C-Come on, everyone in the car, I'll take you back to Akaito. We'll talk about it there."

She waved them toward the car and let them pile inside while she locked up the door to the tunnels; then she joined them, started the engine, and drove slowly back to the school with a pensive expression.

Eber opened his mouth once or twice to consider discussing the room his team had found, but it seemed... inappropriate...

Kojiro silently looked as his own teammates. Something was not right here...Was Seiya about to snap again? Should they really be in the car with her if she's losing her mind? He rubbed his arms out of nervousness, looking down to see how much the acid had hurt his other clothes and looking around the car waiting for someone to snap and break the silence.

It was going to a long ride.

Kumiko peeked outside the car window expecting to see a full moon or something that would explain the odd behavior of her fellow security team members. There was no such luck. Seiya troubled her the most. She was supposed to be their support and she had walked away for 'air', she was supposed to be their pillar, and she seemed almost shaken. Kumiko began to wonder if Hikaru suspected all of the questions she would once again receive upon returning to Akaito. The silence that filled the car could have not been more awkward.

Shiori wanted to know what was going on with Hikaru and why she seemed to taken back by her and Kojiro's description of the tunnel, but no one else wanted to take the first step, so it seemed. Probably for the best as she didn't want Hikaru distracted while trying to drive back to school. She knew how frustrating it was when someone was discussing something that interested you when you were trying to get them to their bloody practice on time because they plowed their Honda into a fence pole, so any questions she had could wait for when they were back at school.
