[b]FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 2nd, 2016[/b]

Six o'clock comes much too soon. Another new day has begun, bringing the students all the closer to a quiet, peaceful Sunday. Despite the toils and labors that the security team has undergone to keep the city safe, no one showed gratitude because the results were invisible to them. The consequences were invisible, and misdiagnosed. Hikaru worried it must have seemed to them as though they were accomplishing nothing at all...

She sat in the Student Council room even that early, doing the paperwork for the new transfer students that would arrive tomorrow morning to get moved into the dormitories. Along her papers, she found an extra application that should've stayed inside the faculty office.

"A... new teacher...?"

------

Eber was exhausted. Fuck school after a night like that. All he had to do was throw one more punch at Mori and he'd be able to sleep in for another week. Oh, right, but... Akinari would get bullied.

"...Schiese."

He pulled himself out of bed and pulled on his track pants.

------

Isoroku woke drowsily with all of the bitterness of Eber, but none of the resolve.
Somebody might get bullied if he failed to come to class.

".......Meh."

He rolled over.

Shiori was slow to rise as another morning dawned. "Uggh, no more light. Light bad," she mumbled as her attempts to stave off having to get up were failing. With a sigh of defeat, she hoisted herself out of the bed.

She really didn't want to go to class feeling this groggy. But she wasn't a coffee drinker, and pills were out of the question. 'Hmmm, maybe I should try to do my running today. That might help wake me up.' She stuff her uniform into her gym bag and put on her tank top and track pants. Unsure of whether or not her plan would work, or totally backfire, she made her way down towards the track.

Kumiko awoke to the sound of her alarm. She hated the sound, there just was not enough time in one night to get sleep when you ran around saving people after hours. She picked up her alarm clock and threw it to the other side of the room, ripping it out of the socket. Rolling over, she buried her face into her pillow and groaned.

"I don't want to..." she spent five more minutes in bed and then reluctantly rolled out of it, readying herself for another boring day of school. Tired though she may be, she was not going to leave her room looking a mess. She took just as much time making herself dolled up as usual before heading to the courtyard. She pat her cheeks, trying to wake herself. "Come on, Kumiko, wake up. Soccer today. You can make it."

--------------

It seemed that Akinari also had trouble getting out of bed. He wasn't tired, at least his mind wasn't. It was clear. But, his body was still fatigued from the work Mori made him do until Eber took over. It still weighed heavily on him that Eber could just not care to enter the first swim competition. Especially since he was the best member the Swim Team had. All of their hopes for victory would be gone with him missing. Akinari thought long about that and about Mori. Why did that man love to torture him so much?

Sighing, he got out of bed to go through his daily routine. Minus the running. He didn't feel like it, and if Eber could so easily toss aside the competition they'd been training for, well maybe he could throw running to the side too. "He did help though..."

Akinari may have skipped the morning jog, but he still packed Eber a light lunch anyway. He was too tired and unmotivated to make anything extravagant.

Kojiro sat up on the end of his bed. He did not want to go to class today... 'How am I suppose to handle that? That we kill people...and now I have to go to class!' He let out a low sigh and thought of how well he could fake sick...But shuddered at the thought of Edogawa showing up.

"I better just go...I guess I'll just zone out in class again..." He got up and got ready for school, but at a painfully slow pace. He didn't want to be early, he didn't want to have to risk talking to the others about last night.

------

Takuya hit his alarm off, but remained in bed, happy with himself. He had a good rest that night. No dreams, no worries. he was able to put his head down and review his class work in his mind and replay how he had tormented Fujita and Fridmund the day before.

He took a deep breath as he sat up. "You know...I did not see that freshman yesterday...Tsukiyomi must be shitting himself in his room..." He turned his head and nodded to Styx who stayed by the bed all night. Most would never had been able to sleep, knowing the walking malicious corpse of a woman stood over them all night- but Takuya found her refreshing. She thought everything he thought and more- well save for Seiya.

"Perhaps today we will ask Seiya about him, hmn?" He stood up. "Ask her if we should take him to the tunnels...Maybe if we are lucky...he will have a little...accident.."

Styx roared with pleasure at the idea.

It was going to be a good day for them.

It was a brisk day for September, brisk enough to make Shiori regret just wearing a tank top down for her run. "Baka," she scolded herself. "Well, if this doesn't wake me up, nothing will."

She slowly set out around the track, just trying to get her blood flowing. It seemed quiet for a Friday morning. Maybe everyone else was still dreaming about their weekend plans. Like she should be. 'Ah well, I made my choice'

Eber noticed as he stretched that Akinari was not coming down for their morning run. He must still be upset... Nothing he could do but wait for it to blow over with time and his usual dose of nonchalant charm. As he set out for the jog, he noticed Shiori run up from behind him and surpass him on the track. He wasn't certain she would be in the mood to talk, but bad energies could be burned out with positive thinking and some competitive spirit.

He decided to make a race of it, increasing his pace to gain ground.

Hikaru took her folder with her to class, where she could work on it without worrying over getting to homeroom on time; likewise, Isoroku made his way to the second year classroom, where he could lay his head on the desk and sleep for the same reason.

Now that she was in the courtyard, Kumiko sank into her new routine of standing by the steps and watch as the joggers go by. Expect today, two of the runners were missing in action and replaced with an athletic female that was not her. She wasn't sure of she felt about that. They were all competitive, it was all in good sport. Kumiko shook her head. Silly her. Eber sent a treat to her, not Shiori.

---

Akinari approached the steps leading into the school. He bowed to his senpai, debating on if he wanted to wait for Eber to finish his morning run or not. He decided against it, he'd be in class anyway. He would see him there.

Rin groaned as her alarm clock seemed to go off right after she closed her eyes for the night. She didn't want to get up, and found herself fighting the urge to call in sick today as she forced her tired body out of bed. Deciding a shower was in ordered, she slowly trudged off to do it. By the time it was over Rin felt at least semi awake.

"I hope there isn't another encounter like last night anytime soon." she gave a small sigh as she finished tying her ribbons in her hair and grabbed her bag. She quickly pulled on her shoes and left the dorm, eager to get to homeroom quickly. Besides maybe she could manage a mini nap before class. 'Every bit helps after all.' Rin gave a small grin at the thought and walked faster.

Shiori was lost in her own thoughts. Now that she was a bit more awake, she couldn't help but think of the events of last night as she jogged. It was still so much to take in, in a situation still very new to her.

'I really don't want to be a blob. I can't imagine that being any kind of good. How does it even happen? Does someone just melt? I don't even.... Is someone behind me?'

She looked over her shoulder quickly and saw the foreigner running behind her. 'Huh. Is he trying to catch me? Should I let him?......Yeah, I think I will. Be nice to have some company out here right now.'

Shiori slowed her pace enough to let Eber catch up to her. "Hey Soda Kid," she called. "Last night wasn't enough exercise, huh?"

Kojiro entered the juniors class room. He spotted Isoroku in the back with his head down and sighed. 'What a great idea...' He took his seat practically falling into his chair and leaned his head back. That day needed to start so it could be over. He wasn't even sure if he wanted to talk to Seiya about last night or anyone for that matter.

'Why did I think it was a great idea to not be normal...?'

-----

Takuya made his way to the senior class. As he left the dorms, he spotted Hasegawa and Fridmund racing about. 'Hmph, so she's throwing her lot in with that crowd? I'll have to remember that for later...'

He pulled out his phone and text Seiya:
Code:
I trust you are in the class room by now. I wish to have lunch with you, don't promise anyone else.
He then tucked the phone back into his pockets and continued on his way. Though he was heading to class, he only sent the text to ensure Seiya would not make any foolish arrangements to her female friends while he was in transit. He so hated when she was distracted from paying attention to him...

"Forgive me, Senpai!" Eber's smile could have out-dazzled the sun, "I regret that I have such an active athletic career at times. It requires early start and persistent training. Uusally I have a jogging partner, but..." He trailed off, allowing his shrug to indicate his helpless disappointment. "...I confess to be surprised that you are up and running about. Does it clear your head?"

------

Hikaru clicked her phone shut, lips pursed. Mori-sama wanted to meet with her... And she wasn't certain if it was due to the new teacher and students or rather a more serious matter.

I sense tension in the air... Should I be relieved that their resolve falters... Or disappointed to lose the allies?

"It helps," Shiori admitted as she kept her pace ahead of the younger student after her. "You have to admit, there is a lot to filter through after last night. And since you have a bit of experience on me in that department, it's probably much easier for you."

She spit out some of the building saliva in her mouth. It was a fairly unladylike motion, but she wasn't paying particular attention to etiquette at this time.

Rin finally arrived to the class room, and made her way back to her seat. She gave a small greeting to both Kojiro and Isoroku before sitting down. She immediately rested her head on her arms and hoped today would go by quickly.

The German's brow quirked at the expulsive action, "Ah... Well, to be sure, you never quite get used to those... things... And, the news we received from Seiya-senpai last night... It was not something we had already known." His sneakers pounded the concrete in rhythmic time to the older girl's, a subconscious efficiency. "As far as I am concerned, you know as much as I do."

The corners of Shiori's mouth dipped a little at hearing what Soda Kid had to say. 'So he's in the dark too...that's nice. So nobody has a clue about this. Except Hikaru. Maybe I can work on her a little in class, see if she wants to say anything more. I would like to know how to avoid becoming one of those things...'

The senior's pace slowed slightly. It was getting within range of class, and she want a quick shower before having to hit the books. "Hmmmm, I guess it can't be helped. This whole situation is just one big mystery, huh? I can't stop thinking about it. It's just, I still got so many questions on the whole thing, and last night just added more fuel to the fire, you know? Like why us? Why me? Why not any of the other wandering faces in this city? How did we get these powers? And how did I even know how to use them. It's a little overwhelming," she turned her head back to see if he was still keeping the same pace as her. "It's like all the things I was thinking about with graduation, only tenfold now. I guess I thought it might be a little easier for you to think about it. You seem like you got a good head, you know?"

She was meandering. She knew it. But it's hard to concentrate your thoughts and run at the same time.

"Ah..." Eber looked a bit perplexed by the last statement--perhaps in translation, the meaning was lost. "I wish I could answer your questions, but... to be honest, the reason why, or the way how, I do not care."

He veered off from her, accelerating as he neared the gym and thusly the boys' lockers. He called over his shoulder, "I only want to be stronger!"

Shiori watched the abrupt exit over her shoulder, as she went for one final lap. 'Huh, that was a bit weird. Wish I could just be plowing straight ahead like that.'

She finished up with a bit of reserved speed and made her way over to the girls lockers. Her mind was a little bit less foggy, at least with the perspective of Soda Kid's outlook, but there was still a lot to think about. The shower was refreshing after the run and as soon she was finished and dressed, she was out the locker room door, heading for class. She wasn't sure if she'd time before to talk to Hikaru, but if she didn't, lunch could be a possibility.

Class begins.

Eber manages to slip into his seat behind Akinari, avoiding the boy's eyes with a nonchalant and innocent manner. Hikaru had just finished up the paperwork for the faculty and student arrangements and set them aside to turn in later... Oh, but not at lunch. Her lunch period belonged to Mori.

Isoroku... did not wake up.

The teachers guide you through a long session of equations, philosophy, and chemistry--there's a pop quiz in History on the Edo period. You hope you did well...

You are now free to enjoy your lunch period.

As the bell chimed for lunch, Kumiko actually felt a sense of loneliness. Aside from the usual people circling her desk that more or less talked at her instead of to her, she was missing her company. Yamada was absent. She found it strange that she missed the company of someone so boringly traditional, but if Yamada missed class, it was probably for a good reason.

Kumiko turned around in her seat and looked back at the 'douche crew' and then at the classroom door. The idea of another boy coming in with a package for her made her smile briefly and then sighed.

'Soccer, Kumiko. At least there's soccer.' she twiddled her thumbs.

---

The ringing was Akinari's cue to pull out a meager lunch for himself and Eber. The boy placed a small bento on the German's desk and apologized for it not being the usual grand feast. There was no flare or color to it, just bland looking food.

"Are you sure...you won't reconsider competing?"

Kojiro was, essentially a zombie throughout class. Even school could not distract him from the events of last night. 'Ugh...please don't let there be any sort of pop quiz today...there's no way I'm gonna pass...' He sighed and looked over to his comrades, and envied them. Isoroku and Rin were smart enough to not really have to worry about class, but Kojiro however....he was just average.

And the stress of this little adventure in the tunnels, coupled with his already stressful life... 'Either I will flunk out or drop out...I'm sure of it...' He slumped in his chair and waited for lunch.

-----

Takuya sat in class, eyes closed and letting the lesson sink in the way he usually did. He did not care to outwardly express any sort of notion of paying attention. In fact if not for the fact he enjoyed knowing that just beyond his eyelids was the look of a frustrated teacher, glaring at his relaxed physic wanting to order him to attention, he would skip class all together.

However, as of late on top of the lesson plan, Takuya was taking note of Styx and her actions. They was she hovered over others' desk. From time to time she would just come to stand over a person. And with his eyes shut he felt as if- no he knew he was seeing things through her eyes. Seiya always had that...glow that made her untouchable. And Hasegawa had her own...it wasn't toxic like Seiya, but Styx didn't go near it. When she did, they both felt it flare up. A challenger...one day they would have to put it down.

But there were plenty of small fry in the room. Sleeping or totally unaware. Watching them...She wanted to cut their heads off before they became anything.

Takuya readily agreed, that it would be an entertaining sight.
