It was two goals now, actually, that Eber had won--And he posed no obstacle to Mori for the President to catch up to his score. When they again faced off, with the freshman on the defensive, he was light on his feet and attentive. Ne Zha's influence was like a veil in the atmosphere rife with energy. A bit of static stretched from him and zapped Mori's hand.

"Nice and tense, is it not, when we are tied?"

As soon as Takuya moved, he charged.

------

"Rin?" Isoroku frowned. Leaving Kojiro alone with her to presumably drool all over each other was not exactly to his tastes, but he wasn't sure if he could handle the disappointment that would be on the girl's face when he showed up too. "...No, I'm not studying. What a waste of time."

Kumiko decided that she wasn't going to spend her entire practice doing nothing. She dribbled the ball back and forth between her feet, occasionally kicking it up to bounce it on her knees. Every now and then she would check on Eber and Mori's game to see who had control of the ball. There was no need for her to stay too focused on them, any time Eber made a goal she'd know. The girls would shout and cheer for him and jeer for the red head.

Rin groaned lightly to herself as she seemed to slowly eat away at the work she needed to do. She kept glancing at the clock wondering when Kojiro might show. She also wondered if Isoroku would show up. Kojiro had mentioned the idea for anyone in the security team, but Isoroku often seem less than enthusiastic about school related activities. Giving a shake of her head she tried to turn her focus back to her work. 'At least with one of the other two here it wouldn't seem to drag on forever.'

With a great sigh Akinari plopped down in a chair as he gave the classroom a once over. It was spotless and he was beyond tired. His back hurt from cleaning the floor, shoulders aching from keeping his arms up so long to clean the tall windows. The boy's hands smelled of chemicals and his eyes burned. Even so, he was determined not to let everything get him down.

Instead of going straight to his room and resting, Akinari decided to pay his friend a visit. Practice was just as important as competing. He wanted to show Eber what it meant to support by going down to the soccer field and doing just that; support. Even if he was late. He sat in the open stands to watch.

Takuya sneered as Fridmund charged forward, 'Damn insolent bastard!' He kicked the ball around his feet and backwards moving back from the approaching freshman. 'Let's see, how this thing of his works.'

He turned around and took the ball farther out from Fridmund and goal, waiting for him to catch up. Styx's anticipation hung over hos shoulders in the form of her claws digging into his shoulders. He couldn't wait to see what was inside the freshmen.

----

Kojiro shook his head at Isoroku, "Will you just come!" he crossed his arms. "You never do anything with us...Besides it would look good for you too to actually be seen out and about." He frowned. His friend was always holding up in his room. Well at least now Kojiro knew why he was. It bothered him somewhat.

Or maybe he still just felt bothered about cheating?

Perhaps getting Isoroku out will make him a little less condescending....and make Kojiro less worried a teacher was going to burst in here and haul him away.

"Come on,we can even go out to eat after..."

Eber followed after, as light on his feet as usual. Emboldened by the challenge of the tied stakes, he made a charge to take possession of the ball, rearing his foot back to kick. Then he stopped mid-swing and stumbled backward. Just as he'd gone to strike, Ne-Zha's energy had rebounded off of... something... inside Mori. Standing still, he stared at him in confusion, thinking that he could just barely make out the line of a dark thing around Mori's body.

Then his smile came back and he feigned he'd made such a move deliberately.

"Psych."

------

Isoroku frowned. Kojiro, if nothing else, at least knew how to make him comply.

"Fine, I'll join your pow-wow. But I'm only coming along for the food."

He closed his laptop and followed after his friend for an afternoon of--ugh--studying.

Takuya smirked, "Very inventive..."

'Psych...hardly'. He continued to drive out, before taking a sharp turn inward and raced toward the goal. 'Come on, Fridmund! Keep up with me!'

----

Kojiro shook his head, "Come on, Isoroku! You have to have a more upbeat attitude..." He pat his friend on the back. "You're always so...cynical when you hang out with us, Rin is going to start to think you like her as much as you do Mizushima."

Kumiko sneezed suddenly. She looked back and forth wondering if there was someone outside talking about here. Shaking her head at herself for even thinking about a silly superstition like that, she gave up on practicing. There was nothing more she could do by herself and with the entirety of the girl's team enthralled by just two boys, what else could she do but watch?

----

The young and tired Akinari was having a bit of trouble keeping up with the score so far. He had no idea who was in the lead. The student body the was out on the grass seemed to have a rather obvious bias. If Mori made a goal, it was bad, if Eber made one on the other hand, well...Akinari never knew girls could squeal so loudly. It was all quite impressive and only made him more curious. If Eber put this much effort into a one on one practice, why ditch a swim meet when he could probably literally blow everyone out of the water?

The puzzled boy watched on, silently cheering for his friend to win.

Eber followed hot on his heels; the President had a Persona. He could feel it. Was he aware of it? But, of course--Hikaru was his loyal kitten, why would she have bothered to rat him out!?

"I am right behind you!"

That statement did not remain true for long; he slid in front of him to intercept the ball, ready to get physical in the worst possible way.

------

While Fridmund and Mori wrestled over a ball in a damp field--yet another activity Isoroku would never be caught dead involved in--the sophomore looked up at Kojiro with a somewhat defeated expression.

"As though there's even a comparison between the two... Whatever, I'll grab my Hello Kitty handbag so we can play patty-cake with the neighbors, is that sociable enough for you?"

He rolled his eyes. Nag, nag, nag.

'Kimiko's pretty lucky. I mean, I don't know if Soda Kid would be my type but still. To have someone that popular say he wants you out...man, I miss that.'

Shiori stood in the middle of the crowd now, her height allowing her to see unobstructed. The match certainly was entertaining. She actually wanted to see what kind of move either one would pull next.

There was no way those two were evenly matched. At least that was what she was thinking. Either she wasn't seeing things and there was a little foul play going on or someone was just messing with the other. "Oooi!", Kumiko called out. "Eber! That date isn't going to go on itself, you know! Hurry up and win this thing!"

---

Akinari's ears pricked up. He could have sworn he heard his senpai shout something about a date at Eber. He'd seen Kumiko up close, she wasn't exactly on the ugly side. It started to make sense in Akinari's head. His friend was willing to skip out on the swim team, but he was also willing to go to soccer practice and show off. Catching himself starting to feel a little miffed, he took a deep breath before leaving the stands and heading back towards the dorms. The poor boy was tired after all.

Takuya turned his head as Fridmund came up beside him to intercept the ball. Again the senior made to fake him out passing the ball backward, however this time instead of swinging back he swung his foot out, purposely putting his leg into Fridmund's path.

'Let's see this thing of his in action!'

----

Kojiro chuckled, despite the fact Isoroku was clearly insulting him again, he couldn't help but laugh.

"Yes, that's sociable enough, sour grapes. Now come on, let's get the hell out of here." Kojiro pulled out his phone and sent a text to Rin:

Code:
We're on our way to the library.

Rin looked up from the problem she'd be working on as her phone began to vibrate. Reaching over she grabbed it and flipped it open. Reading the message she quickly sent Kojiro a reply.

Code:
Okay, I've already got a table for us at the back of the library.
Sending the message to him she returned to her work. 'At least things will seem to go a bit faster once they are here.'

Blink once and Mori was on the ground. Blink twice and the ball was in the goal. The German looked fierce, and no longer playing for laughs. He fought for every meter gained or lost, and hardly twenty minutes went by before he found himself facing off with the Student Council president with a score of 4-4.

The next goal would decide more than just the victor of a petty scrimmage.

Next goal decided who was top dog on campus this week.

'Come on, Soda Kid. Just end this thing right now.'

It was amazing how engrossed Shiori was becoming. Normally if she wasn't participating in a sport, she couldn't stand to watch it, but there was just something about this battle of skill. It had to be viewed.

'Put that redhead in his place. Just take him down and be done with it.'

The game had gone on long enough. Anyone actually keeping score was holding their breath while they waited for the tie breaker. Kumiko was one of those people. Of course, she wanted Eber to win for more than just putting Mori in his place. Intent on watching, she had forgotten to give him a little more encouragement.

Kojiro turned to Isoroku, "She's already got a place ready for us... You know, RRin studies all the time...I have no idea how she focuses so much on class." Kojiro walked along with his hands in his pockets, making idle chit-chat with Isoroku all the way to the library.

-----

To say their blood was boiling, would be putting it politely. Between Takuya and Stxy there was an unquestionable air of malice and hatred.

'That fucking punk...without his Persona he'd be licking the bottoms of my shoes, and he knows it. Fucking freshman! Fucking abomination! Fucking Freak!'

With ever insult he thought Styx roared louder in his ear.

He was always the best. Always on top! Always number one. And some blond haired git was going to swipe that spot out from under him, all because of some fucking supernatural bullshit! His damned pest was deflecting his moves. Could it be it was stronger than Styx? ...Never. But perhaps there was more control there? Seiya's little security team does get together three times a week...

Takuya ground his teeth as he faced the freshman and the scenarios played out through his head of the many different ways to approach this situation. No matter what happened, the idiots on the field would only see Fridmund and Takuya. No matter what at the end of the day they only saw to humans playing. Nothing more, nothing else.

He smirked, it didn't matter if he won or lost a scrimmage. It didn't matter if Fridmund got to gloat for a while, because right here, right now, all signs point to a rematch. And not one on the soccer field.

'Its a matter a pride. Battles mean nothing, winning the war is everything.'

Takuya charged at Fridmund, his intent no longer on the soccer ball. If he blocked it, it was a bonus, if he lost, he'd eat it. Like he did the suspension and the busted nose. Let the lemmings have their laugh, he wanted to know how far he had to go for the rematch. He wanted to know how strong it was. Because the next time, there was no excuse for the chance of failure!

As Takuya approached to steal the ball from Fridmund, Styx completely broke off from him. Roaring, angry, she moved like a cold wind on the field, claws raised and swinging to tear at the Persona in Fridmund.

Something electric passed between the two boys in the air. And it sure as hell wasn't romance.

When Styx collided with Ne-Zha, that electricity crackled and repelled the other Persona; Ne-Zha took the brunt of the assault in defense of Eber but it shielded the German and allowed him to draw his foot back, and swing.

The soccer ball sailed like a gentle breeze into the net.

The crowd went wild.

He grinned.

"Yes!" Kumiko cheered, bouncing up and down in excitement. A few of the females around her congratulated her. It was now a very, very good day. The enthralled girl finally took notice of Shiori. She was unsure of how she missed someone of that height, she waved with a smile on her face. But she had something more important to acknowledge and he was grinning on the other end of the field.

'There we go! That's how to do it Soda Kid!'

Shiori joined in the crowd's reveling, happy that Mori had suffered this defeat. She saw Kimiko on the other side. 'Well I guess she's happy.' She returned the wave as Kimiko started making her way towards Soda Kid, then turned around to start high-fiving everyone who was offering.
