He gave a soft curse seeing he was just a moment or so too late and he frowned severely, then heaved a sigh and started to head outside when he couldn't find anyone.

Kojiro nodded, and walked up to the two girls. He had NO clue what he was going to say... He waved to the girls nervously. "Hello, Senpai!" He said with an over enthused voice. He stopped and smiled at the other girl, "Are you walking with Seiya-senpai to cram school? Its commendable of you to work so hard on your grades. Mori-senpai was telling us most of the senior class wouldn't make it. In fact he's certain only the top five would be allowed to graduate....which rank are you?"

Isoroku came up the path slowly behind Kojiro, as if they were not together, though he did not put great importance in the illusion. He tried to catch Seiya's eye, bit his lip as though he were nervous, and then beckoned to her.

"Um... What?" The girl looked at Kojiro as though he was insane.

Hikaru also looked taken aback. "I-Ishikawa-san, what are you doing...?" She blinked at Isoroku behind the other boy and wriggled out from between the other two to approach (cautiously), "Yoshida-san...?"

------

Eber looked a bit uncomfortable. "Err... yes. Well, but it will be difficult for one to sneak a girl in after curfew, will it not? No one will be in high spirits." He patted his shoulder, "I will go change and be outside shortly."

Isoroku bowed. "Seiya-senpai! I'd like to talk to you... but I don't wish to make you late. May I walk you to your next destination?"

"YOU'RE DOING IT TOO?" he clapped his hand over his mouth. 'I've got to stop blurting like that.' Akinari crossed his arms and gave Eber a look of disappointment. "Just because Mori-san does it, doesn't mean you should do it too."

He went up to his room and changed into comfortable running gear and promptly returned to their rendezvous point.

Kojiro watched as Seiya walked away, he inwardly sighed and focused on the girl in front of him. He reached out and grabbed the other girls shoulders, "Please, tell me? How grueling is the work load for seniors? Should I just quit now or keep trying? I'm only asking you because you look so beat down from the work load. From you I can get an honest answer."

Oh geez...he inwardly sighed again. This was going to get him hit....he hoped Isoroku would hurry.

Hikaru looked wary--especially after her rather blunt conversation with Rin. Still, she didn't want to make herself unaccessible to these students who'd found themselves burdened with a power they didn't want. "W-Well... Um, yes, that would be just fine." She glanced over her shoulder at her friend and gave a quick wave. The friend did not look like she wanted to be left behind.

The senior headed toward the main gate, squeezing her bag a bit tighter. "Is something bothering you, then, Yoshida-san?"

------

Eber blinked, mouth opening to defend himself, but the boy had already left. He rubbed the back of his head, shrugged, and went upstairs to change. He returned ten minutes later in his sweats and with his mp3 player.

On his way out of the building Yamada saw just the people he'd been searching for, well Seiya and Ishikawa anyway, but as he approached, Seiya went over to someone else. He tried to see just who it was, then remembered he may be seen and ducked behind a trimmed hedge to listen in as soon as he saw that the person she went to was Yoshida. He prayed no one noticed him.

"Ready?" Akinari stretched. "I'm all set to run until I have to drink a tank of water." He finished limbering up and tilted his head in question. "So what's our goal today?"

Isoroku fell into step next to Seiya, avoiding eye-contact.

"I suppose... it's just... it is difficult. I do not get along as well with the other students as I would like. I think my position in the rankings upsets them, and I understand why... sometimes I yearn to just give it up and go back to who I was before. Even Yamada seems to dislike me. If only I were a year older, maybe I'd have more luck with the senior class..."

"U-Um. Well. The courseload is very different, and I'm sure that you don't want to overexert yourself. The testing for that sort of thing is quite rigorous." Hikaru went on to explain the procedure of skipping a grade level, attempting to be as informative as possible before eventually pausing, "...Besides, it seemed to me that you had quite a few friends that you were out with..."

------

"Well we shall have to do double the usual to make up for what you missed this morning," Eber grinned, ruffling his hair as has become practically habit, "Can you take it?"

He looked at Eber in fiery determination. "YEAH!" In truth, he wasn't entirely sure he could, but he was sure to put forth a full effort. 'It's easier when there is someone with you.' he kept telling himself. "Yosh!" he cried, clapping his hands together. Without further word Akinari started his training.

"Ah, yes. Well... I don't know. We were somewhat forced together, and the interactions aren't always friendly... we've all had part of ourselves revealed to us, but now we've been prevented from embracing that, from learning more about it... it's so stifling. It's making them all a bit on edge. And me, too. It's hard to focus on anything else. "

He listened on intently. When Yoshida said his name he went very still, terrified he'd been seen. He stayed that way as long as he could. He was not sure he was understanding entirely what they were saying, and wasn't hearing about half of it due to distance. He wanted to curse and move nearer, but was sure he'd be noticed.

"Err..." Hikaru shifted her bag uncomfortably in her arms, "W-Well, Yoshida-san, there's more to it than just putting yourself into harm's way, you see. Summoning a Persona--Look, why don't you just ask Junsui-san, I just discussed it with her this morning..."

------

Eber chuckled and jogged out after him, keeping pace with the smaller boy and staying just behind him as encouragement.

"So how long are you supposed to be suspended for?" He didn't bother to look back, he learned his lesson about that last time. Eyes on the prize or you might end up on the ground and running backwards was something Akinari could only do when there was a spherical object falling out of the sky to focus on. "If you want, I can still make your lunch..."

Isoroku decided to dive in. He took a deep breath, and finally looked down at her.

"Hikaru-san... please. I have always respected you, and I hope that you respect me. I have no doubt that you are mature and wise enough to handle your knowledge-- I wish only that you could trust me enough to believe that I could do the same. I do not wish to learn from Junsui. I wish to learn from you."

He took another breath, as though steeling himself. "I have always wished that you and I could be friends. Not just respectful acquaintances... real friends. If you truly believe that I am not capable of understanding, I must respect your judgment, because I have always done so. But I believe that I am ready... and I have done my best to show you that."

"O-Oh... Well. Um. That is very flattering. I-It's just that I find it difficult to believe that you respect my judgement when you won't let me tell you what's best. All you need to know is that it's too dangerous for you and everyone to go into those tunnels. Besides--using a Persona raw, straight from your psyche, makes it extremely volatile. It's very likely to destroy you just as soon as it would an enemy." Hikaru stopped walking and looked him straight in the eyes, "Would you want to be responsible for having killed Junsui-san? Or Ishikawa-san? Mizushima-san or F-Furidoman-san?"

------

Eber put on enough speed to run level with him, "For the entire next week, I will be stuck in the dormitory. But I doubt it would be convenient for you to have to bother with two meals when one is only staying behind. I will have plenty of leisure to find... Ah. Something to throw together..."

Isoroku stared right back. An urge to scream at her, to swear at her, rose up in his gut. It was followed quickly by an urge to level with her, really show her the cards. He pushed them both back down.

"I'm sorry, Seiya, but your discretion is too late. You worry about Ishikawa, do you? He may have been safe before his power was unlocked, but not any longer. Withholding information now does no good. Do you think hot-headed Ishikawa can last long? Do you think a lack of information will keep him from using his Persona?"

He shook his head sadly. "The best thing you could do to make us safe is level with us. Give us the information we need to keep us safe. If you don't... who will truly be to blame when our power destroys us, solely because we did not understand it?"
