I actually know someone who bought the wood looking faceplate.
That wouldn't be me would it?

Cause it actually matches the giant oak entertainment center I have, and hey I needed one after I popped off the original one because I like to mess with things I am better off leaving alone, dropped it, and promptly stepped on it.

Would have had no problem purchasing one if not for the fact that they could range up to prices like £20 a go... You could get a pre-owned 360 game for that price... Maybe even two or depending on the games.

If they went for £5 a plate... I'd have bought one.

I had a ghost recon one...It came with ghost recon \o/ For the price I would of wanted to have a skin wrap for the rest of the console - Having a front part one colour then the rest of it bland white would of done my head in :(

I tried taking off the orginal coating on the xbox, that shit is impossible and razor sharp. Sliced my finger open.

I scanned through the comments, and no one seemed to mention the fact that there is no reason to buy a faceplate, when you can get a GAME instead! If you buy used games, you can get several for the same price as the faceplate retail price.

I have a few promo faceplates (Eternal Sonata, Ace Combat) and a really really neat after-market faceplate that has a Decepticon sign as the power LED and the faceplate is interchangeable with pictures of oldschool Decepticons (1980's Transformers).

I dont think its looks to bad and by reading this it seems im one of the few making it extra special ^.^ or extra lame =(

Its covered on both sides. The white showing through on the front of the xbox isn't actually noticeable its just the flash from my phone made it stand out alot

Well, if they were cheap and there were good designs I would have bought one (provided I had a 360, which I didn't/don't/probably never will). The thing is, with things like this I like to create my own design and change it fairly often.

This will, of course, make the faceplates become very valuable in the not-to-distant future as a collector's item.
Like the way we regard E.T. as a classic because it was shit?

Also, I saw the WWE 2008 one, and it looked ugly, so I didn't buy one, the only decent one to buy was the Homer Simpson faceplate...

Most of those pictured designs seem about as redundant as having the make of your car stickered to your windshield.
