Should Amnesia be released on consoles?

While I will never play it either way because I'm a gigantic wimp when it comes to horror games...i could see a capacity in which it would work...if, say, you had a surround-sound setup. It's a game that warrants one of those nightmare-inducing playthroughs where you have headphones on, the volume up, and the lights off. Which would work with surround-sound...just not standard stereo because it loses some atmosphere

Well Journey is published by Sony so that isn't going to happen. Dark Souls would be nice, though.

I would definitely buy it on a console. My laptop can't run it. They'd have to overhaul the controls a bit though

I already have it on PC, so I'm content with it on there. The developers even said they can't see a console release happening. The one reason I think for that is audience. There haven't good horror games in a while, and not a lot
Of people buy them anyways. Amnesia is popular o the PC, and I'd want it no where but on there.

Works for me, as long as us Xbox folks get Journey too. I'd strongly, strongly consider it (not the biggest fan of horror, so I can't say 100%, but I'd probably get it).

No, cant say im bothered. Played the demo on PC and wasnt impressed. Not sure why people go on about it so much. The screen filters are plain annoying and the enemies not very memorable. Although having to run instead of fight is a good idea.

Its no better than silent hill, so meh. Now if there were some creative monsters like in silent hill, then we'd be cooking.

Yes, so I can play it. I downloaded the demo and there was a problem with the graphics, so I assume my pc just isn't good enough.

All PC only games should be released on the consoles and all console exclusive games should be on the PC.

Unless you some small indie company and cant afford it or something put your shit on everything.

I agree with this on principle, but Ficitional Games would probably lose cash doing a Xbox port and they don't seem to have a lot of that to spare. And I would rather they continue making good PC games than rsiking bankruptcy with ports, especially because 10+ bucks indie games seem to sell a lot more on PC.

Now, if a big name like EA would offer to port it and distribute it paying comission to Fictional per sale? I am all for it. Or if the OP makes an actual petition and shows enough interest from the console community.

I'll be honest, I didn't think the Dark Souls petition would ever work. I never would have thought a publisher would be swayed by a petition. But now a PC release seems inevitable which has got me thinking...

Ever since it was first teased I've wanted to play the Amnesia games but can't since there's no way it could run on my modest little netbook. So I've been thinking about starting to petition to see if we can't get Frictional Games (And THQ) to release a port of the first game on XBLA (PSN is a long shot unless they get another company to port the game) for $15-20. Seems like a perfect fit to me and it's been shown that weird, experimental games like Limbo and Journey can be successful on consoles. Plus if it's a success, maybe Frictional will release a port of the sequel as well.

But beyond myself and a few other people I'm really not sure if a lot of people are really clamoring for the game to be released on consoles. I'm trying to feel this out before I go and start drafting up a petition.

So if they released Amnesia on consoles, would you buy it?

It's worth a shot. You can always play Amnesia on Onlive if a console port does not happen.

Yes. I own an old MacBook, and having it on XBLA or PSN would be awesome.

If they can manage to port it over I see no reason not to.

Also, no, PC wont get God of War & Halo because those are first party games. Amnesia was only PC exclusive because it was an indie game and it was much easier to focus on one platform that is easy to code for.

Besides, I'm not sure if the team is big enough, to be honest. If Amnesia hadn't been a success they'd have gone their separate ways, if I remember correctly.

Nah. It should stay a PC exclusive. I love the exclusivity concept because it entertains me listening to everyone ***** and moan about not being able to get Flower on the 360, Gyromancer on the PS3, and Amnesia on the consoles. If every game goes on every platform, it makes everything the same and boring. I do not like this socialist mentality that gamers are trying to impose on gaming. I like each system having different games and different experiences.

Even though I cannot afford it, I am one of those people that will get all gaming platforms
