Looking at the thread "What's with all the Gamecube hate?", I was seeing that a lot of people enjoyed and/or still enjoy the gamecube. I've been thinking about buying a gamecube. Yeah I'm about 10 or so years off, but I've built this attraction to the previous generation games. I guess I'm growing a bit weary of the current games today. Now don't get me wrong I still find some games today worth it. Also I've never really got to experience the games from the pervious generation. I kinda started late in gaming (to my terms and experience) and I want to catch up on the past.
I looked at Gamestop. Yeah I know some to a lot of people hate that place, but I like it. I've never had any major problems. A Gamecube is $30 refurbished and game at in the $10-$20 price range (typically). So if you think about it the amount you pay for a game today ($60) that can get you a Gamecube and a game or two. Now I have a Wii with a Gamecube controller, memory card, and two games: Resident Evil 4 and Call of Duty: Big Red One. Yeah I could just go buy the games and play them on my Wii. Yet I've always had this notion that if you're going to play any retro to previous gen. games you should play them on the original console. So the obvious question is- Should I go spend $30 (which I have no problem spending) on a referbished Gamecube or just play them on my Wii or Other (if there is one).
