If you own a PC already, get a PS3 instead of the xbox.
Very easy to port from xbox to PC so it happens for nearly all games.

PS3 still has some good exclusives.
Even though more often then not games are ported across Xbox and Ps3 and will often skip right over PC. If a game goes multiplatform its more likely to go cross console before it gets to a PC
True, but still get the PS3.
It has those cross platform 360/ps3 titles and more exclusives.
There's 360/PC ports, 360/ps3/PC ports, but no ps3/PC ports that I've heared.
Portal 2 will be PC/PS3 only, but apart from that yes your right, plus I like the looks of the ps3 exclusives much better then that of the Xbox exclusives. Being a PC guy if i where ever to put money on a console it would be the ps3.

Honestly, I would contend the idea that either one (ps3 or 360) has 'more' exclusive games than one another. The majority of games are seen on both, with a minority of games either releasing later for another one or not being on the other one at all.

You might want to figure out which one has a more comfortable controller to you, because that could be a big factor over time. Also, the 360 sometimes has battery-chargable controller backs, or rechargable; Ps3 always has rechargable. But hey, you can talk extensively about add-ons, attaching keyboards to consoles, etc, but if its not a big deal for kinect or move, it's all about your primary needs.

Do you want a certain HDD size? Do you want to be able to upgrade the HDD? Are you going to stream data between it and your computer? Are you worried about having to replace it in 1-3 years?

Either one can work with any sort of tv, pretty much. If it doesnt, the tv is probably pretty old and could just use a cheap adapter. I've heard that ps3 games will look slightly better in some games than 360, but i haven't tested that myself. Only other big issue is if you want to avoid swapping out discs in mid-game (ala FF13?)

I do think it's a good idea to get one of them at some point. There are some games which i prefer on the pc or console, just based on controller preference, and it's good to have some alternative options.

As far as price goes, try to avoid thinking about it in terms of money. It's only about a hundred or so dollar difference, and one might suit your needs better than another. Pros/cons!

I'd say grab a PS3 or computer

I'm a total 360 fanboy, I stack my gamerscore as high as I can get it and love a lot of the platform exclusive titles but if it wasnt for the sheer amount of money I've sunk into the 360 like hard-drives, the games I own and peripherals I would have switched long ago.

#1 - Red Rings suck, I'm on my 4th box now

#2 - Paying for online multiplayer sucks, If PS3 and PC offer it free for most games then sweet

#3 - DLC sucks, I'm not sure if PS3 has the same problem but I don't always have net available for my console and a lot of DLC just doesn't work if it can't ping the servers to check you aren't pulling a fast one and passing a profile around your mates, so any saves that used DLC are locked up when offline (I'm looking at you Fable 2 >_>)

So yeah, PS3 if you dont mind its titles, PC's come with their own brand of drama in never quite knowing if a game will work or to what graphics capability. I'm a big fan of HoN and SC2 but its great to be able to rent or buy a game and know it'll work the moment you chuck it in the machine.

Good luck picking :)

I'd be careful buying a second hand xbox. If it is one of the older models then it may suffer badly from over heating, that or they have actually already RROD'ed and that's just naughty >_<. I'd just try to stick with PC but that's all I've got for advice really.

I wouldn't. If you want a console, save a little more and get a ps3, less overlap on games, blu-ray...

That's what I'd do, ps3 or upgrade pc. I seriously can't remember the last 360 exclusive I got excited about. I keep getting tempted by Fable 3...but it's out on pc in a few months.

I agree with people saying to get a PS3, A good chunk or X360 console exclusives are also released on pc eventually, and PS3 has massive quality exclusives.

As for FPS'es, you get used to it, I was die hard mouse and keyboard back in CS1.6 days and now I feel much more comfortable with DS3 than KB/M on a game like Black Ops.

ps3 definitely. it basically a cheap computer with a controller and sticks instead of a mouse, also you dont have to pay for playstation network, and all games are blu-ray, ps3 functions as a blu-ray player, and is compatible 480i-1080p.

I have both a PC and a Xbox 360. Completely unbiased opinion from me is, "Get a solid PC". I know its going to be costly but in the market of today you are going to need an adaptable machine that can be able to do many things. Its unlikely that Microsoft would release a new brand of Xbox by 2011, but PC have more options modding and official.

-Edit: On a side not, if you interested or have been coerced into purchasing any Valve or Steam games, get a PS3. It is going to have Steam on it soon and I can almost promise you that Valve will make itself very comfortable in Sony's lap (means more updates for Team Fortress 2 and others).

You can get a new 4GB xbox for like 200$ so if your getting a used one it's should be like 100$ or less so why not?

Just make sure you lay the xbox on it's side not standing up! I hate how they show it standing in ads.

If you buy a PS3 and upgrade your Pc you can play near enough every new game out there even all these "exclusive" 360 games.

I'd say get an X-box, it's easy to use, not very expensive and it'll work on any tv (within reason)

I've been thinking of saving up for a console, naturally it would be an xbox since you can get them cheaper second hand (Please no flame wars here.).

I've been very happy with being a PC, and have been considering weather whether or not its it's worth getting a console. I guess for convinience, being a little easyer easier to track down slightly older games (I've really wanted to try Gears Of War but can't find a PC copy) and also being able to trade in et cetera.

Though I don't feel totally comfortable playing games on the couch sofa (I know, weird). and then Plus, it complicates things, do should I get it the game for PC or Xbox? as far as FFPS FPS' I;m I'm really retarded useless with dual joysticks.
And Will I need some giant HD monstrosity of a tv to be able to use it? my tv is kinda small.

I guess my main concern is there being fewer titles for the PC, I'm not big on RTS multiplayer, MMO's or anything online.

Oh, and I wouldn't touch Kinect with a ten foot pole at gunpoint.
Fixed for you. Learn to press the apostrophe button instead of the semi colon, and get a spell checker.
Grammar Nazi awaaaaaaaaay!

O.T. If you have friends playing on the Xbob, then go for it. If there's a lot of Xbox exclusives you want, then go for it. Just don't get it if there aren't very many games you'd want to get on it.

If you've got an old low rez TV try to avoid games where you'll be reading a ton of text, some of them get rather hard to read if not impossible at times depending on the game (Forza3). 360 is fine if your looking for stuff that you won't find on PC, PS3 can be good as well. Go for whichever system has games your interested in.

Get whatever consoles your friends have. No point in having an Xbox if they all have a PS3. If there's an even split between your friends, or if you still can't decide, then I'd buy (if the price difference isn't an issue) a PS3 - and this is coming from an Xbox owner. Of course, if there are console-specific games that you want to buy then you'll have already made your mind up. But if I had to make the choice between the consoles the PS3's Blu-Ray player is probably what gives it the edge.

In my defence I'm actually not such a bad speller, I just type too fast and in this case didn't proof read, and funny thing is when I type away I always hit the semi colon accidently But I apologise for my bad spelling and hope I won't offend anymore grammar natzi's.
