Should I Join Twitter?

If you can find some interesting feeds, absolutely do it. I follow a few friends who tweet interesting things, several newsmakers that I want to pay attention to for my job at my university's newspaper, and a few fun ones such as a friend-of-a-friend who posts links to bizarre shit he finds on the Internet, and FATJEW, a fat jewish rapper from New York whose twitter feed is one of the funniest things I've ever read.
I strongly dislike things like Facebook and Twitter, so my natural response is to say no. That being said, I can at least see the value in something like Facebook, but Twitter is so profoundly pointless and stupid that I can't bring myself to find anything remotely redeeming about it. So, yeah, don't do it. Nobody cares that you just had your coffee or you're on the bus or you're nervous for whatever.
If othe rpeopels trivial every-day stuff is so booring, that they have to do someothing else while doing it (like postin git in twitter) then how should it be of any interrest to you?

Answer this question: Do you use Facebook? I ask because essentially Twitter is the "How/What is [YOUR NAME HERE] doing/feeling today?" part of Facebook. Now if you like that stuff, that Twitter is for you. I find the whole process and site to be redundant and quite useless.
