Know what this thread made me realise? No-one even bothers to read half way down the first page.

I'm glad you found a new job and got away from that wretched hag.

I read your post and I understand your concerns, however, I didn't have to read your post in order to respond to your question. The answer is always the same in these situations.

Nomatter what you're doing, how little you like your coworkers or how much the job makes you want to burn your place of employment to the ground, the answer never changes. That answer is, and always is: Not until you find another job.

The reasoning behind this is simple: You need money, and money doesn't come for free. You have no idea how long it might take to find another job. Last but certainly not least, it is always much easier to find work when you already have a job. Being able to write that you are currently employed on your resume/CV is always a huge bonus, and potential employers much prefer to employ people who're coming from one job to another, rather than people who may have to re-adjust to working life.

Glad to hear you found another job already, though.

I would have to agree with your parents, look for a job now, for at least 2 weeks, see whats out there and what you can get. Maybe you'll find something. As much as we all hate to say it, money does rule the world, and without, you lack a lot. So, I would suggest try and stay for a little longer, or at very least work there as long as you can, but instead of doing what you normally do, just work as if your boss isn't there. Do what you do and what your asked normally, but if your boss yells, or asks something more than they should of you, just don't do it, walk away, etc. Worst Case Scenario, you get fired from the job you were gonna quit, and maybe had a little fun with the way you left.

I've been working at a gas station of a company I will not name for almost 4 months now. The first month it was a really nice job, not extremely well payed but I live with my parents so I don't really have to pay for a flat or food. Anyway, as I said first month it was a really good job. My boss was good and helpful, workmates were nice and friendly and overall it was a nice job experience. But 3 months ago a new "boss" came to us and instantly everything went down the shitter.

Not only is this boss annoying, and ungrateful for everything we do. She also considers herself a master of "mobbing" her employees. And I really mean it, in 3 months our scores fell down badly (we were one of the top stations in the region and now we are one of the worst) and both me and my co-workers are just tired and pissed off about what's going on. I'm considering leaving the job but my family suggests that I should at least start looking for a new job first and than "maybe" leave. Quite frankly I don't want to. After what has been going on for the last 3 months I'm mentally and physically exhausted.
Literally I feel like shit. When I started the job I felt good when I was going there to work, I knew like today I was going to earn myself some money, but now... now I just don't care.

As an example of what kind of person my boss is let's say this little story from yesterday/this morning (night shift). We got a huge delivery at about 2AM (Me and my co-worker). And by huge I mean HUGE, like at least 2 times too big for our magazine. We had to work our asses off for 5 hours carrying lot's of heavy stuff which would normally not be necessary. Why was it necessary? Because our boss decided that we need a HUGE delivery in case WW3 happens or something, I don't know... even the delivery guy was surprised as to how much stuff we got. After we were finished we were tied but had the feeling of a job well done. Than out of nowhere (at 7am) came our boss.
First thing I hear? "Why the fuck are the toilets not clean?!" (and I DID clean them) "What the fuck were you doing all night? Get to work", than I pointed out at what we did and said that I'm going home cause my shift ends at 7am "You are not going anywhere until you do this this and this" (about 2 hours of work and I was already after a 12 hour shift). Than I just couldn't hold it any longer. I literally exploded in front of my boss throwing curse words I didn't even know existed and getting myself to the edge of crying (and I'm not a person who just bursts out crying whenever I hurt my pinky). And I got out of there as soon as I could.

This thing made me realise what wreck of a person I have became, exhausted, easily annoyed and probably depressed.

I want to quit. Only I don't know if I really should. Getting a job is not really easy nowadays and this one pays well for my needs.
I just... I just don't know if I'm just overreacting or do I have serious reasons to leave.

Please help guys

PS. It's not like it's my first job. It's just the first one that caused such... "feelings" in me, literally I never wanted to punch somebody so hard as my boss now.

The above is excellent advice. Start looking for another job TODAY.

First, look for a job. After you find one, make your boss's life a living hell, to the point she has to fire you.

You know, crap in the toilet an dont flush, write her phone number in the stalls of wallmart toilets promicing felatio to the first 100 callers, fill out paper work upsidedown.

And then, when she asks why your doing all this, point out shes a raging, socially inept b*tch who needs to get laid.

Sorry, im bringing my past experiances into this. I had a boss who was a b*tch beyond all recognition. I filled her car with a mix of lime jello ((which she hates)) and burgerking garbage ((which my friend was kind enough to secure me)). Put her in her place good.

Well... First looking fo another job might be agood idea. But telling your boss your mind can be VERY satisying. I myself did quit a job i loathed before (and before i had another one... i was stuck jobless for about a year after that)... but overall:

Doing something you feel you SHOULDN'T be doing just fucks you up.

Oh and as a tip: many "higher-ups" don't think about you as a real person. It is hard to change them... or to enrage them by telling them off or quitting. Maybe he just need some other monkeys to do the job.

Oh and yeah: Going to HIS boss and telling him that yours is doing a bad job, especially with morale might work. (Depending on how much they like each other)

Viva la revolution.

Get you and your co-workers together to report her.

Too big for your magazine? Are you by any chance Russian?
Anyway, there's other ways to solve this problem. Talk to the boss, gather everyone with the same position and talk to her. Start a pitchfork and torch rebellion. File more complaints.

I say rise up against your boss. Try to get her fired. If that doesn't work, then look for a new job, and quit in a really epic way.

Make a complaint about her with your coworkers, if she doesnt get fired or anything then leave.

Get the phone number of your head office or local area manager and ask for a representative to come round and speak to you and explain the situation to them and hopefully things will get sorted out for you.

The most probable you got a new boss was because the last station she worked at did what I have suggested and when they transfered her to your station they were hoping she might have understood why she was moved but it seems she didn't get the message.

TL/DR

Complain to her boss till something gets done!

If you're working at a gas station, I recommend studying at university, getting a Ph.D and starting an orthodontist's clinic.

Indeed.

Ok so since some people requested a "report" from me here it is.
Yesterday as this topic shows I finally decided to quit my job and get as far away as humanly possible from the wretched hag of a boss I used to have.
Indeed I would quickly need a new job and I found it about 10 minutes after creating this topic ;). I called my friend/old boss (yes indeed) and asked him if he would maybe want me to return to my old job. He was literally ecstatic about that, I didn't know he respected the work I was doing for him so much.
After I explained to him the reason of my "switch back" to the old job he offered me an instant pay rise which basically means I will earn about 25% more than I did at the gas station (and money was the only reason I went there) AND that's about two times what I was earning at that old-now-new job I have =). AND I get a company car :D.
After hearing all this from him I instantly went to my now old work and asked everyone to gather around because I have something important to announce (I asked the boss to come too OFC).
When everyone came around I walked up to my "used to be" boss, grabbed her hand. Looked her in the eyes, smiled and said:
"You're pathetic, I quit"... and than I left! With a hurricane of clapping hands behind me! it was fantastic! I feel fully rejuvenated and full of life! I feel like I can eat rocks and crap out mountains! I FEEL EPIC!

Once again! Thank you to everyone who commented on this topic!
And I'm terribly sorry for my horrible grammar and overall chaos in this "report" thingie. I'm just so excited :D

definetly look for a new job 1st, as you don't know for sure how long you may go without till you find a new one. I personally say stick at it, all jobs have managers who are dicks, but at the end of the day your getting money and it's not like you have to socialise with your boss.

i agree with what a lot of others have said, find another job first before quitting. and then start yelling at her at how bad she is at her job

OR if there is anyone with a higher position than her (someone you could complain to about her and if its as bad as you say other employees will help you) then id do that.
